Former TOWIE star Pete Wicks presents a podcast with BFF Sam Thompson all about staying relevant and it turns out he’s doing a pretty good job of it as he’ll be starring on not one, but two TV shows in the coming months.
As well as competing against the likes of Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri and EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick on Strictly Come Dancing, it’s been announced that he's starring on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins for the second time. He was forced to quit the 2022 series when he broke his ribs and was knocked unconscious following a helicopter stunt.
Pete is one of three former TOWIE stars taking part on the Channel 4 show alongside Bobby Norris and Georgia Harrison and there’s also a couple more of our reality telly faves heading Down Under to New Zealand to take on the brutal show too – including Pete’s “celebrity nemesis” Ovie Soko.
The playful rivalry between Pete and Love Island 2019 star Ovie first came to light a couple of years ago on an episode of the Staying Relevant podcast when Pete’s bestie Sam shared his theory that “everyone’s got a nemesis” in the world of showbiz.
"I know exactly whose yours is," he teased in classic Sam style, barely keeping it together as he told Pete with a laugh, "Ovie Soko."
“Oh for f**ks sake,” Pete swearily replied, before continuing, “He's not a nemesis because we are not in the same stratosphere.
"He's an ambassador for Hugo Boss and went to the GQ f**king party and I'll be honest with you, I was dressed as an elf on Monday."
So, why does Sam think there’s beef between Pete and Ovie? Well, Pete went on to reveal that they share the same agent while Ovie is attending awards ceremonies and working with fashion designers, Pete is told that "Asda Price want you to slap your arse."
Oh, Pete you might not be working with Christian Dior but there's always going to be Celebs Go Dating.
And hey, appearing on the 20th series of Strictly is not too shabby at all.
