TOWIE's Lauren Goodger has admitted that she’s a nervous wreck as she struggles to juggle her hectic life with daughter Larose, work commitments and personal dramas.
Taking to her Instagram last week, the TOWIE star revealed, “Been the worst day ever. My baby girl and I [have] been up all night, her temperature sky high… kept her in all day with me monitoring.
“I’m a nervous wreck and I have to do it all by myself, no one comes to give me a helping hand… Hats off to all the single mums that are actually completely on their own.”
The star then alluded to another drama taking its toll on her mental health, writing, “I also got some horrible news, I’ve cried all day in secret because I never let my daughter see that. I’ll never understand life, so much bad stuff happens and I’ll never understand why.”
Last week, Closer revealed that Lauren’s ex and the father of her child, Charles Drury, had gone Instagram-official with his new girlfriend. She has since posted several cryptic posts on her social media including one in response to a fan questioning how she explains to their daughter where her Daddy is.
“I simply say Daddy is at football, working and remember he had to go back to school to learn how to be a good daddy,” she wrote.
Lauren welcomed Larose, three, with Charles in July 2021, but the pair split shortly after her birth. They later reunited when Lauren revealed that she was pregnant with their second daughter, Lorena, who was born in July 2022. Tragically, Lorena was born with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and passed away just minutes later.
Charles and Lauren’s relationship eventually ended in August 2022 when Lauren accused Charles of assaulting her on the day of their daughter’s funeral. Charles, 26, denied the claim and, in February, Lauren withdrew her support for the prosecution and Charles was found not guilty.
Despite the split, however, the pair remained close for the sake of their daughter. But it seems now the star, who rejoined TOWIE this year, is finally ready to put herself first.
“Charles moving on has given her the drive to get her s**t back in order,” a source tells Closer. “She wants to get back out there and meet someone, but knows she has some work to do on herself first. She’s been struggling.”
And it sounds like she’s making a good start – rejoining her local gym and working out as often as she can.
“Lauren blames stress for the reason why she can’t ditch the pounds,” our source continues. “She’s been trying hard recently to get her fitness back. She re-joined her local gym but she’s finding that the usual tricks she did before – working out and cutting back on certain foods – just aren’t working.
“She finds it frustrating, she’s been working her arse off but feels like she’s gaining weight instead of losing it.”
But despite not getting the instant results she wants, the exercise regime does seem to be helping Lauren to unwind. Last week she shared, “I made some positive changes. I went back to work and I train near enough every day… The gym is my medicine.”
The insider adds, “Lauren wants to feel happy and to decompress so that she can relax and lose weight, but she’s constantly stressed with juggling childcare and working on TOWIE.
“She never finds the time to focus on herself – she has to work gym sessions into her busy schedule, but she’s a single mum and it’s hard.”
Lauren originally shot to fame on TOWIE back in 2010, with the show documenting her turbulent 10-year relationship with co-star Mark Wright. Following their time together Lauren was linked to Jake McLean, Joey Morrison – who Lauren began dating while he was serving time in prison for a series of violent drugs-related charges – and then Charles.
While the Celebrity Big Brother star is currently single, now that she has returned to TOWIE, she is being well-supported by her family and friends, including pal and fellow TOWIE OG, Amy Childs.
The source concludes, “Lauren gets worried that she’s doing everything alone – she suffers with anxiety – but she’s not alone, she has lots of friends around who want to help her.
“She’s loving being back on TOWIE with her family around her too, she has so much support.”
