We've always had a soft spot for TOWIE legend James 'Arg' Argent here at Closer online. Yes, mistakes and choices have been made, but we've always seen a genuine soul in Arg.
As such, we're constantly singing his praises out and about, but never in our wildest dreams did we think we'd be telling people he's giving Danny Zuko energy in 2024.
Talk about getting our engines going... 🔥
That was a Grease Lightning nod, by the way. Actually, that's a point, for the benefit of any Gen Zs who have stumbled across this article, Danny Zuko was the main stud in the movie musical Grease – he was played by John Travolta in 1978 and the global thirst was real.
And everyone wanted to be Olivia Newton John.
Anyway, 45 years later (regretting doing that maths), Arg's Instagram followers are now comparing him to the fictional 50s heartthrob and we can see why.
The TOWIE OG recently posted an array of hunky snaps of himself posing with slick-backed, gelled hair, an all back ensemble and a couple of bulging biceps on show.
The first follower to call out the comparison was actually his former TOWIE cast mate, Gatsby, who commented, "Jeeeeez man like Danny Zuko. You gonna have to be singin ‘Grease’ tunes on your next set."
Another well-wisher then added, "Danny was super hot, Arg is looking pretty damn 🔥🔥 himself!"
While Arg is, indeed, looking rather cute in these new snaps, what's cuter is the fact that they were, in fact, taken by his ex Lydia Bright at her home in Woodford Green, Essex, and we just love that these two are now the bestest of besties after all the #dramz they've been through together.
Manifesting that for a few of the current TOWIE cast right now...
The former TOWIE star commented on her ex's post, "Last photo shoot I am ever doing for you. It only took 100 shots 😂."
Arg then replied to her publicly, writing, "You telling me not to pout and a lot of tensing! Always a laugh 🤣."
Our 2024 Danny and Sandy right here. But platonic...we think.
Arg rose to fame on the very first series of the show – which aired over 13 (THIRTEEN) years ago – as Mark Wright’s cheeky chappy best friend and went on to feature in some of TOWIE’s most memorable storylines, including his on/off romances with Gemma Collins and his teenage sweetheart Lydia.
