You'd be forgiven for not immediately recognising Thomas Law, the actor best known for portraying Peter Beale in Eastenders. He joined the show in 2006 at the age of 13, becoming the fifth actor to take on the role. Whilst he made quite an impression viewers, Thomas left the show in 2010.
He has since gone on to work as an actor in multiple shows, but for the most part hasn't achieved the same level of fame as he did on Eastenders.
Consequently those who haven't been following his career since he left Albert Square will likely not recognise Thomas, in part because he's, you know, grown up and everything. But also because of his recent career change.
Well don't you worry, we've done the busy work for you and found out what Thomas Law is up to now.
Who is Thomas Law?
Thomas Law is an actor and musician best known for his stint on Eastenders playing Peter Beale. He starred on the show between 2006 and 2010 and was 13-years-old when he first joined the show.
The role of Peter saw great success for Thomas, earning him a nomination for Spectacular Scene of the Year at the 2008 British Soap Awards.
Before going Eastenders he had his small screen debut on Casualty in 2005. He returned to the show as a guest in 2014.
How old is Thomas Law?
Thomas Law was born on the 17th December 1992, meaning he is currently 29-years-old.
Who was Thomas Law in Eastenders?
Peter Beale is the child of Cindy and Ian Beale, two of the biggest characters on the soap. He is the Twin of Lucy Beale.
What happened to Peter Beale in Eastenders?
One of Peter Beale's main storylines on the show whilst Thomas was playing him was his relationship with Lauren Branning. The two characters pursued a romantic relationship to the annoyance of Lauren's father Max.
Ian Beale was also disapproving as he felt the relationship distracted Peter from sport and his potential to compete in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Max clashed with Peter with Peter even attempting to stand up to him, which resulted in Max strangling him. The conflict eventually came to a head when Lauren attempted to run Max over.
Whilst Peter and Max were able to resolve their differences and Peter and Lauren were able to be together, their relationship didn't pan out.
Thomas' run as Peter came to an end in 2010 when he went to join Lucy in Devon after finding out about his father's affair with Glenda Mitchell. He returned to the show in 2013 then played by Ben Hardy.
Check out what the original Eastenders cast are up to now:
Den Watts, played by Leslie Grantham
'Dirty' Den Watts was Albert's Square's original villain, terrorising his wife and neighbours and getting his teenaged daughter's best friend pregnant. His marriage to alcoholic Angie Watts was one of the most tempestuous the soap had ever seen and a year after we were introduced to them he handed her divorce papers on the 1986 Christmas Day episode – watched by a record breaking 30.15million viewers. He was "killed off" by an East End gang in 1989, but returned again in 2003 for an 18 month stint, before being killed off for good at the hands of his second wife, Chrissie Watts. His character has been described by EastEnders executive producer Louise Berridge as being arguably one of the most iconic soap characters ever.
Will Thomas Law return to Eastenders?
It is unlikely Thomas Law will return to Eastenders as Peter Beale is now played by Dayle Hudson. He would have to return as a different character (which could be pretty confusing) or maybe for a cheeky cameo?
What is Thomas Law up to now?
Last year Thomas Law joined the cast of the ITV crime drama The Bay for its second series. He plays DC Eddie Martin in a role Metro dubbed his "small screen comeback". The third series of the show is currently airing on TV.
Is Thomas Law a musician?
In addition to his work as an actor, Thomas Law is also a musician. Thomas regularly posts videos of him performing on his Instagram account.
In these videos Thomas often takes on the role of multiple band members, playing an instrument in one clip, providing backing vocals in another and lead vocals in another. These videos are then played side by side to give the impression that Thomas is collaborating with himself.
These videos really show off Thomas' musical chops. We would definitely recommend checking out these covers as they show another side to the actor and demonstrate how far he has come since first appearing on our tellies back in 2005.
Tom mainly performs covers of other artist's songs, putting his own fun twist on the classic tunes such as Coldplay's Viva La Vida and ABBA's Dancing Queen.
In addition to posting his music on Instagram he also releases some of his covers on Spotify. He posted a screenshot of his Spotify wrapped at the end of last year, revealing he's amassed a whopping 2.4 million streams on the platform and hat 584.4K listeners (wow). It seems like his music career is really going places and we look forward to his future releases.
