In the last line up of celebrities we saw the likes of Peter Andre, Kellie Bright, Georgia May Foote and of course the winner, Jay McGuiness.
But who will grace the floor in the next series to compete for the Glitterball Trophy?
Here’s who’s been rumoured so far…
Daisy Lowe
The model has apparently already started training for her stint on this year’s Strictly, and is apparently using it as a way to get over her ex, Pop Idol’s Darius Campbell.
A source told the Daily Star: “Daisy is a great signing – she’s one of the girls of the moment.
“She’s part of that trendy young Primrose Hill set and is quite edgy compared to a lot of those who normally sign up.”
Louise Redknapp
The 41-year-old shot to fame as member of girl group Eternal and has now been confirmed to take part in the Beeb’s dance competition.
“Louise has been top of the Strictly hit list for years,” a source told The Sun.
“She’s a huge star and they feel she will bring class and glamour. They’re absolutely thrilled they’ve finally got her.”
Anastacia
She apparently ‘charmed’ the Strictly bosses when she performed on the BBC show last year, and so it seems the American singer will be taking centre stage this year to compete instead!
Anastacia is hoping her time on Strictly will also relaunch her music career in the UK, and a source told The Sun on Sunday:
“BBC bosses are also very pleased to have her on board, as they are sure the British public will really warm to her.”
Judge Rinder
The Sun Online revealed that Judge Rinder will definitely be starring in this year’s series, and we can’t wait to see his sassy responses to Craig Revel Horwood.
The criminal barrister – real name Robert Rinder – stars in the reality court show Judge Rinder, and oversee a variety of different cases.
It’s like a British version of America’s Judge Judy.
A source told Sun Online: “Producers hope they [Rinder and Revel Horwood] will go for each other and are predicting that new viewers will tune in just to see them go head-to-head.
“We don’t know whether he can dance or has a background in it, but we know he certainly is entertaining. That’s what people want.”
Tim Peake
Tim recently landed back on Earth after his six-month mission on the International Space Station, and now it looks like he could be set for the Strictly ballroom.
According to reports, the British astronaut is top of the BBC producers list to appear on the dance competition.
An insider told The Sun: “He was obviously huge this year and would be a dream signing.”
However, the 44-year-old is currently having treatment to recover his muscle strength lost during his mission, so his appearance may have to hold off for another year…
Lesley Joseph
The Birds of a Feather actress has been rumoured to be joining the line-up this year, and if she was to compete, Lesley would be the oldest woman ever to dance on the show at the age of 70!
However, she does have panto commitments and previously said she wouldn’t appear on the dance competition; but you never know!
Cheryl Baker
The Bucks Fizz singer and TV presenter is also rumoured to join Strictly, and according to the Radio Times, has been “in the mix” of previous line-ups before.
Could this be her year?
Angelica Bell
According to reports she’s been confirmed, but there’s been no official announcement as such yet.
The TV presenter is a familiar face on our screens, so could she be making an appearance on the dance floor this year?
Ryan Thomas
Ryan has just left Coronation Street after more than 15 years on the ITV soap, and he’s recently been taking a keen interest in his fitness.
Although he’s now trying to pursue other career opportunities, and a spokesperson told Digital Spy the rumours are “completely made up”, we’d love to see Ryan on the show, wouldn’t you?
Tameka Empson
EastEnders’s very own Kim Fox-Hubbard has revealed she’d love to take part in the dance competition.
Speaking to Radio Times, she said: "If Strictly Come Dancing came knocking, I’d be like, ‘Hello!’. I would be dancing all day every day.”
Although Tameka revealed that she doesn’t see herself as a celebrity and isn’t “the right person” for the BBC show. We would sure love to see her get her dancing shoes on though, wouldn’t you?
Chris and Xand Van Tulleken
TV doctors Chris and Xand have made a name for themselves fronting various shows, including Channel 4’s Medicine Men Go Wild and BBC Two’s Trust Me, I’m A Doctor.
And now BBC bosses have apparently got their eye on the twins, as a source told The Sun: “[Strictly has] never signed up siblings, let alone twins.
“Chris and Xand are both intelligent, charismatic guys who the audience are sure to warm to. And watching how they compete would be fascinating.”
Apparently Chris is quite into the idea, but needs to persuade his brother to get his dancing shoes on.
James Corden
Could James be returning from America where he films The Late Late Show and his hilarious Carpool Karaoke segments, to join the Strictly dancers?
Speaking to Radio Times the presenter said: “I was up at 7am today to do a fitness dance class, it was just me and 20 women doing something called PlyoJam, which is basically a huge amount of jumping and dancing around.”
“I absolutely love it because it’s the first exercise I’ve done that doesn’t feel like a chore.”
Well, if you enjoy dancing James, we know the perfect show for you!
Michaela Strachan
Yes, the Springwatch and The Really Wild Show presenter who was also in a Scouting For Girls song.
Speaking to The Mirror, Michaela said: "I've never been asked to do Strictly Come Dancing. I wonder if producers overlook me because of my dance background, but if they're reading this, come and get me!"
She certainly sounds up for it!
Debbie McGee
After the passing of her husband, Paul Daniels, Debbie has spoken out about wanting to appear on the show.
She told The Sun: “Paul was on Strictly Come Dancing and that’s something I’d just love to do in his memory.
“I’m getting my agent to ring them. I’ve written it on my list of things to get finalised.”
Emma Willis
Emma’s recently given birth to her beautiful baby daughter Trixie Grace and is currently presenting Big Brother, but she’s also said that she’d love to learn to dance on Strictly.
However, Emma revealed that she’s “not a very good dancer” and doesn’t “want to be the joke”.
Paul Hollywood
Paul has forever said ‘never say never’ to Strictly, so will the Bake Off judge turn it down if it was offered this year?
And it turns out the BBC have been trying to get him on the show for years, but he’s always been involved in other projects.
Charlotte Crosby
She won Celebrity Big Brother in 2013 and now it seems the Geordie Shore lass wants in on Strictly Come Dancing too.
One fan tweeted the idea and she replied: “Now that would be such an amazing experience!”
Hannah Spearritt
Could the S Club 7 singer be following in Rachel Stevens’ footsteps?
The actress previously told Bang Showbiz: “Oh my God, Strictly Come Dancing is amazing. It’s kind of got better and better over time. It’s kind of overtaken X Factor.
“The standard is incredible. That would totally be amazing. It would be so much fun.”
Måns Zelmerlöw
If you watched Eurovision last year, you’ll remember that Mans won the contest!
But can he win the hearts of the British audience on Strictly? He was rumoured to be on their list because he is ‘great eye candy’ – but he did win the Swedish Strictly ten years ago, so we have a feeling that might not sit well with some viewers…
Joe McElderry
The winner of The X Factor in 2009 has said that he’s: “not a brilliant dancer" ut in his head he's "Beyoncé!' I'd give it a good go!”
Well he’s competed on The Jump and Popstar to Operastar too, so could this be Joe’s next reality appearance?
Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford
Apparently, Eamonn and wife Ruth Langsford want to do the show together!
Ruth is a big fan of the show and the pair have apparently been on the wishlist for a few years, but Eamonn has had problems with his hip that have stopped them signing up.
However, Eamonn has had a successful hip operation recently, so could this be the year?
Gok Wan
Gok was supposed to take part in last year’s series, but only agreed if he could dance with a man. He has previously said: “Strictly should have same-sex couples. Absolutely.”
Could we see this happen in 2016’s Strictly Come Dancing?
Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan
Reports claim that this TV presenting duo secured a place on last year’s series and Richard was whistling the famous Strictly tune after a meeting around this time last year too apparently.
So could the pair have just been planning their appearance for this year instead?
Shane Richie
Another 2015 rumoured contestant, who was apparently going to be paid £150,000 to take part, apparently.
And as Shane is currently filming the short EastEnders spin-off Redwater with Jessie Wallace could this be his opportunity to put on his dancing shoes?
Bez from Happy Mondays
Bez has previously tried to become an MP and entertained viewers when appearing on Big Brother, so is now the time for the Happy Mondays star to enter Strictly?
He said previously: “I can promise that doing Strictly would be as much of an entertaining laugh for the viewers as it would be for me”.
Andrew Ridgeley
Andrew was reported to have joined the line up last year, but that obviously never occurred.
Better known as half of Wham!, could we see him Andrew dancing to one of their hits?
Mel B
Reports claimed that the Spice Girls singer has been lined up for the show in the past, and she took part in Dancing With the Stars in America (which probably won’t go down well with viewers) – so could Mel be wanting a go at the British reality competition?
Katie Price
Katie does like to appear on the odd reality show (she appeared on I’m A Celebrity twice!) and she’s definitely up for learning to dance on Strictly, after she asked the BBC bosses to call her and make an offer last year.
That's if she's not hosting the I'm A Celebrity spin-off that is...
Adrian Chiles
Adrian made a brief return to The One Show recently, so could he be in with a chance of meeting with the Beeb bosses to star in Strictly?
Michelle Keegan
The former Coronation Street star has said she doesn’t want to follow in her husband Mark Wright’s footsteps, but the rumours suggest otherwise.
Melvin Odoom
DJ and presenter, Melvin has revealed appearing on Strictly is one of his biggest goals: “I’d get to wear sequins – everyone is a winner”.
Daniel Craig
Yes, James Bond himself!
He reportedly took dance lessons for his role in Sylvia, and his choreographer said he was a natural.
And a source told the Daily Star: “What a coup to get 007 on the dance floor. The professional girl dancers would all be fighting to be partnered with him.”
It’s unlikely to happen but he’s been one of the top rumoured celebs of the year for the show so far this year.
