EastEnders Johnny Carter could be killed off in next week's dramatic scenes involving a gas explosion on Albert Square

We know that at least one character will bite the dust after a huge fireball rips through the Walford In Bloom event.

Our hearts were in our mouths when we watched the BBC trailer which suggested it could be Phil Mitchell or Stacey Fowler who doesn't make it out alive.

Now it seems it could be a much-loved member of the Carter clan.

The latest spoilers surrounding the soap's huge storyline is that someone will be shot by Ted Murray following the explosion.

This week Ted told Johnny about his horrific experience during World War Two.

It seems the explosion will spark terrible memories that cause him to reach for the pistol he's been hiding in his home since he arrived on the Square earlier this year with wife, Joyce.

Whether or not Johnny is the person he shoots remains to be seen, but we do know that he and his mum Linda will be rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

But on the way, the vehicle will crash and overturn - in a dramatic stunt that was actually for real after the ambulance flipped during filming.

Pictures show a bloody Johnny being wheeled away on a stretcher. Eek! Could this be the last we see of the law graduate?

We can't wait to find out but the Carters aren't going to be the only ones facing danger in what is set to be a massive week for Albert Square residents.

Bad boys Max Branning and Steven Beale are also plotting to do away with his step-mum Jane as he fears she's uncovered his lies about his brain tumour and his part in an arson attack.

We know actor Aaron Sidwell who plays Steven is leaving the show so could his evil plan backfire and lead to his exit?

It seems he will start a fire at the Beale's restaurant with wheelchair-bound Jane inside.

It's just all too much, who IS going to survive? We can't wait to tune in next week to find out!
