Great news for fans of EastEnders and Mick Carter - actor Danny Dyer has been spotted back on set. Yay.
He's been off work on an extended break, following concerns about his health, but now EastEnders star Danny Dyer has been spotted back on the set of the BBC One soap, much to the relief of fans. Danny was spotted on the Elstree set yesterday (Monday) and is said to be 'fighting fit' following his time off from the hit show.
Danny has been in South Africa recuperating over the last six weeks, but his absence has really been felt on set. A show insider told the Daily Star: "Danny has been missed these last few weeks. So it was a welcome sight seeing him drive back into the studios with a cheeky smile on his face.”
The source added: "Everyone is looking forward to having a refreshed Danny back on the show. He’s a big character on and off the set and his absence was really noticeable."
Following Danny's departure, there were rumours circulating that he'd left for good and had been involved in on-set feuds with his co-stars. EastEnders bosses have strenuously denied these claims.
Danny's character, Mick Carter, has only just suddenly disappeared from the show. He was written out by having to dash to the side of daughter Nancy, who has been involved in an off-screen car crash while traveling.
Mick's had a tough time of it recently in Walford. He's sunk deep into debt after picking up a fine for Aunt Babe serving boozy breakfasts in the Queen Vic. He also took on son, Lee's, various debts before the character left for good in February.
Danny's on-screen grandmother, Sylvie Carter, met a shocking end last week as she was electrocuted in the bath. Her funeral scenes were filmed last week and Danny wasn't included.
Welcome back Danny, can't wait to see Mick back in his rightful place behind the bar.
