It’s easy to forget that Love Island is a reality show with an entire crew working behind the scenes.
While we focus on the dramas, the fights and the recouplings, it’s some people’s job to make sure that every episode looks perfect.
Every time an Islander leaves, we are treated to more secrets on how the show works and we can’t get enough. Even Love Island experts like us at Closer HQ still have some learning to do.
When Love Island 2023 stars Kady McDermott and Ouzy See sat down for an exclusive interview with Closer, they spilled plenty of Love Island Secrets. The pair discussed the contraband they tried to sneak into the villa, their plans for dating on the outside and the topic on everyone’s mind - the clothes.
When asked about the clothing situation, Ouzy said, "I feel like for the girls, the clothing situation is good, because you looked unbelievable every night."
Kady then said, "Do you know how stressful it was in that dressing room, Ouzy?"
As it turned out, it wasn’t the free for all clothing heaven we all imagined.
We pictured the girls having endless outfit options, with a new eBay drop landing almost daily when in reality, many of the clothes wouldn’t work on camera, which made the getting ready process just that bit longer.
Kady explained, “All our clothes strobed. We had to do a strobe test every night, the producers had to check [for] the cameras.
"About nine of my outfits that I brought in strobed, all my best outfits. So us girls really struggled… So that was really stressful."
No wonder those getting ready montages look like they take hours to film. That being said, we’re still obsessed with the Love Island outfits the girls wore this season, so we’re not complaining.
