We’ve been obsessed with Love Island’s Samantha Kenny ever since she strutted through those villa doors and one of the main reasons we love her is because she’s absolutely not afraid to speak her mind.
Most recently, Love Island 2019 and All Stars Islander Chris Taylor was on the receiving end of a tongue-lashing from Samantha when she clapped back at him during her appearance on Aftersun after he claimed she was “running” after Joey Essex.
“Chris Taylor made a bit of a point, something about Samantha’s legs, tired from running after Joey, something like that,” she told host Maya Jama.
Samantha continued, “Can I just say, he picked me. I didn’t pick him. No one was chasing Joey Essex, I did not choose Joey Essex, he chose me.
“Chris, if you’re watching, you should know better. You’ve done the show twice, not once. You see 45 minutes.”
The Liverpudlian lass’ comments sparked rumours she was feuding with Chris, so we had to get to the bottom of things when she joined us at Closer HQ earlier today.
While chatting about all things Love Island, Samantha revealed that Chris had actually slid into her DMs to apologise for his remarks. We love to see it.
“Yeah, I have heard from Chris,” she told us. “Do you know what? It’s just light-hearted banter. I can take banter.
“I have heard from him and it’s fine. He said sorry, as he should.”
However, one person that we don’t think Samantha will be making up with any time soon is Joey’s current bae Grace Jackson.
Grace’s arrival into the villa basically spelled the end of Samantha’s blossoming romance with Joey and she was sent packing during the recoupling when Grace chose to rekindle things with the TOWIE star.
Speaking about Grace on Aftersun, Samantha said, “She’s just not a very nice girl, is she?
“I can’t say on national television. But I’ve got home and I’ve seen things and I just think she’s a bit of a slime ball if I’m being completely honest with you. She’s a slimy girl."
WATCH: it turns out the Islanders were almost banned from drinking any alcohol
Nathan Katnoria is heat and Closer online’s senior digital writer. He became obsessed with Love Island when Malin Andersson came back to confront Terry Walsh in series two and hasn’t looked back since. When he’s not interviewing former Islanders, Nathan is scrolling through their Instagram feeds for relationship updates and piping hot tea.
