The summer of 2018 was a good one, wasn’t it? We basically spent all of our time either in a beer garden watching England in the World Cup or at home watching Love Island – and what a series Love Island 2018 was.

Not only did it give us Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer’s love story, but it also introduced us to the likes of Megan Barton-Hanson, Georgia Steel and Adam Collard. All Love Island legends.

Speaking of Georgia, who is now back on our screens for Love Island All Stars, series four also gave us Sam Bird. Remember him? Georgia and Sam were coupled up together but, in a major twist, they were given the impossible decision of leaving the villa as a pair or splitting up and staying on the island as singletons.

Five years on, Sam is now MARRIED (more on that later) and has an entirely new career. Want to know more? Of course you do.

Who is Sam Bird?

Sam is best known for appearing on series four of Love Island in the summer of 2018. And what a summer it was.

How old is Sam Bird?

Born on 1 April 1993, Sam is currently 30 years old.

Where is Sam Bird from?

He’s from Norwich.

When was Sam Bird on Love Island?

Sam appeared on series four of Love Island in 2018. He entered the villa as a bombshell on day 19 and spent time coupled up with Samira Mighty and Ellie Brown, before getting together with Georgia.

However, following a public vote, Sam and Georgia were faced with the dilemma of splitting up and staying in the villa or leaving as a couple. While they initially decided to part ways in order to remain on the island, they left together a couple of days later after realising they couldn’t be apart.

Why did Sam Bird and Georgia Steel split?

Sam and Georgia only lasted three months outside the villa, with Sam announcing they had split just hours after they attended the ITV Palooza together. At the time he said, “I’m devastated to announce me and Georgia have split up for reasons I can’t bring myself to comment on at the moment.”

He later revealed that their split “involves her ex” after she was forced to deny rumours linking her to her tour manager.

Sam went on to say that he’d found secret messages Georgia had sent to her ex and even a picture of them in bed together. Georgia, however, has always denied any wrongdoing.

What happened between Sam Bird and Georgia Steel at the Love Island reunion?

Remember when Love Island bosses put on a Christmas reunion for all the 2018 cast in a luxury country house? Good times. Although, maybe not so much for Sam and Georgia after he confronted her for her alleged cheating. Georgia insisted she hadn’t been with her ex, despite Sam revealing he had the receipts on his phone. It all kicked off, with viewers branding Georgia “toxic” following the bitter exchange.

What is Sam Bird’s job?

Sam owned a gym prior to appearing on Love Island. Since then he’s launched a career as a DJ and music producer.

His most-played single on Spotify, Run To You, has over 4 million streams and Sam spent the summer touring party islands like Kavos, Zante and Malia.

Who is Sam Bird’s wife?

Sam is married to American reality star Kailah Casillas. Kailah previously appeared on Real World: Go Big or Go Home and The Challenge: Total Madness, the latter of which also starred Geordie Shore's Kyle Christie. Sam and Kailah went public at the start of 2020 and announced their engagement in August of the same year.

When did Sam Bird get married?

Sam and Kailah got married in a surprise wedding on 3 March 2022. They announced the news in a video on their YouTube channel, revealing that they'd eloped in Gibraltar after deciding they'd rather have an intimate ceremony instead of a big wedding - and an intimate wedding it was, with only two guests in attendance.

"We don't want a big wedding, we just decided together right now so we are online, looking for somewhere to go in two weeks' time to get married abroad. Somewhere with sun, somewhere we can party, somewhere with vibes," Sam explained in the video.

Alongside photos of the wedding, Kailah wrote on Instagram, "3.3.22 🤍 We eloped! I never dreamt of having a big wedding, so we decided to take a trip to Gibraltar and do it the most intimate way possible, just us."
