They’re two reality TV icons, so we were shocked when we heard rumours of a feud between Love Island legend Maura Higgins and Geordie Shore turned TOWIE star Sophie Kasaei last month.
During an appearance on Chloe Burrows’ Chloe vs the World podcast, Sophie claimed Maura “f**king hates” her as she opened up about an uncomfortable encounter they shared at an awards show.
Even Sophie’s boyfriend Jordan Brook backed her up as she recalled the time Maura straight up blanked her on the showbiz night out.
Sophie explained, “I don't know if they've got beef with us, but when I was at the NTAs this really awkward thing happened to me. Maura Higgins was there and I have been a fan of hers, I think she’s f**king beautiful. She follows us on Instagram so I thought she must know who I am.
“So, we were just walking down and I go, ‘Hi Maura, are you alright? Oh my god, you look amazing’. She went ‘alright’ and I was like ‘are you having a good night?’
“She was like ‘yeah you?’ and I was like this is awkward, so I went ‘are you having a good night though, yeah?’”
Sophie added, “Anyways, I went to Jordan, ‘Keep walking, this is really embarrassing. She f*k*ing hates us. What is going on?’”
Things got then got even more awkward at the afterparty, according to Sophie, as Maura is claimed to have asked her Geordie Shore co-star Charlotte Crosby for a picture but looked at Sophie “like [she’s] a weirdo” when she asked to get in the picture too.
However, Maura has since put rumours of bad blood with Sophie to bed as they were spotted posing together at The Beauty Awards in London last night (Monday 27 November).
Love Island 2021 star Faye Winter addressed the rumoured feud on her Instagram story when she shared a picture of Maura sticking her tongue out and wrapping her arms around Sophie, who jokingly gives her the middle finger.
The picture was captioned, “They are friends @maurahiggins @sophiekasaei_.”
Phew, thank goodness for that.
