Many former Love Island stars have played the game well, but seldom Islanders have played the Love Island game near perfectly. Love Island 2022 finalist Indiyah Polack is one of those rare few. Allow us to explain...
Firstly, we're as obsessed with her today as we were when she first debuted on our screens two years ago. Secondly, she actually found love in the villa in the form of Dami Hope. Thirdly, she became an ambassador for PrettyLittleThing (such Love Island goals) following her show success. And finally, she bagged herself a major Love Island presenting role; Indiyah is both a panelist on Aftersun and co-hosts the official Love Island podcast. Basically, if we had a microphone, we'd personally hand it to Indiyah so she could drop it.
Despite all her success, the Love island 2022 finalist has remained humble AF and we experienced those wholesome vibes first-hand recently ahead of the new series, when she opened up about a "chaotic" and downright hilarious 2022 villa moment that was never aired; the kind of thing the more stuck-up Islanders would most likely bury and NEVER bring up.
When asked what was more iconic, her "may the best heartbreaker win" line to Dami post-Casa Amor, or her recorder playing, Indiyah revealed, "When I came out [of the villa], and I found out that like, dogs were barking when I was player the recorder... I was so concerned and confused."
Indiyah went on to reveal that she had to practise her recorder-playing in front of Love Island producers prior to the talent show and their reaction was, well, all of us.
Indiyah continued, "I genuinely didn't realise people were actually going to find it funny. I really practised quite hard for that, actually. I wanted to do everyone proud. Even when I was recording in front of producers, they were just laughing at me. I was like, 'Come on guys I'm actually trying!'"
"When I was doing it myself, I couldn't stop laughing because when someone starts laughing you keep going and it was so chaotic, and it was so so funny. So I'd probably say that was the most like, iconic thing."
Love Island: Aftersun will return to screens live from London every Sunday on ITV2 and ITVX and will be hosted, once again, by Maya Jama. She will be joined by panelists Indiyah and Sam Thompson who will resume their roles joined by new panelists Amy Hart, Chris Taylor and Jordan Stephens as they join celebrity guests to discuss all the goings on from the villa this summer.
Indiyah will continue to host Love Island: The Morning After podcast joined by Amy and Chris every Tuesday to Saturday now available to watch for the first time ever. Together they will be joined by a rotation of celebrity Love Island fans as well as the dumped Islanders fresh from the villa to catch up on all the latest action.
LOVE ISLAND RETURNS ON MONDAY 3RD JUNE AT 9PM ON ITV1, ITV2, ITVX, STV AND STV PLAYER.
