They were the fiery Love Island winners who lasted 18 months before calling time on their relationship last January. But it appears there’s no love lost between series eight's Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti, as sources tell Closer that her appearance on All Stars has left her ex fuming.
An insider reveals, ‘Davide is absolutely furious about Ekin-Su’s decision to join Love Island: All Stars. He feels like it’s a slap in the face, especially since he turned down the opportunity himself because it didn’t feel right.
‘They’re no longer together, but this has still hit a nerve for Davide. He feels like Ekin-Su’s decision shows a complete lack of emotional empathy; not just for him, but for everything they went through as a couple. He can’t believe she’d jump at the chance without considering how it might look.’
Italian business owner Davide and Turkish actress Ekin-Su, both 30, met in the Love Island villa in 2022 after Ekin-Su joined the show as a bombshell. Despite their tumultuous relationship on-screen, they went on to win the series.
However, following Ekin-Su’s appearance on Dancing On Ice, their relationship became strained and the pair split for the first time in June 2023. They got back together a month later, but ended things for a second time in early 2024. It came after Davide was seen partying with other women and Ekin-Su allegedly found messages and pictures from two models on his phone.
After their messy ending, our insider adds that seeing Ekin-Su back on screens could stir up past memories for Davide.
‘The whole situation has brought up a lot of unresolved emotions for him, even though they’ve moved on,’ they say. ‘Davide has confided that this isn’t about jealousy – it’s about principle.’
