This year's bunch of Love Island contestants are still making the rounds in the world of podcasts, besides Kady McDermott, who has banned herself from talking about her fellow Islanders ever again. Sure, Jan.
The latest bit of pod goss comes from the bad boy of the villa and the leader of the Love Island 2023 lads, Tyrique Hyde. During his time on the show, Ty caused absolute havoc by somehow turning his fellow male Islanders into his very own minions. He also had one hell of a journey with his girlfriend Ella Thomas and the couple ended up coming in third place.
Somebody who knows Ty better than most is his best friend since childhood, fellow former Islander and menace to society (well, the world of reality telly), Toby Aromolaran.
It was only a matter of time before Tyrique appeared on the Fancy A Chat? podcast, ICYMI, Toby is the podcast presenter and they're obvs BFFs and according to Toby, the fans have been desperate to hear Ty on the show.
Toby asked Tyrique all the juicy deets about his time in the villa and also how he ended up taking part in the romance reality show after years of saying, "no thx."
"Before you went on and I was getting a lot of DM's from the casting," Ty explained, "I was, like, 'no I can't go on Love Island,' there's not people like me on there."
"You kept saying that to me," Toby confirmed.
"But you know what it was? Chloe Brockett actually messaged me," he revealed.
Yes to Chloe, without The Brockett we wouldn't have the iconic soon-to-be hit single, "It's giving..." that Ty performed with Whitney Adebayo at the talent show and, honestly, we're not sure that's a world we want to live in.
"She messaged and was like, 'Why don't you go on Love Island?' and I was like, 'nah, nah, nah."
But if we know Chloe, and we do – in fact we are currently in talks for a little goss and blow dry sesh with the TOWIE star, but more about that closer to the time – she wasn't about to let it drop.
"She was like, 'Why don't you go on, seriously?' and I thought 'do you know what?' I actually thought about it. You've been saying it for ages," Ty added as he nodded at Toby, "not just you and her, loads of people were saying it for ages."
Tyrique continued that it was down to Chloe and her contacts that he landed a part on the dating show. What are friends for, eh?
"Chloe must have put me in contact with one of the producers who worked on TOWIE but now works on Love Island," he explained.
Look at Chloe, making Love Island dreams come true.
