Many aspects of Love Island have changed since it's inception. For example, in 2015 and 2016 Islanders were smoking more than cracking on and banging on top of the sheets on live telly, whereas in 2024 on All Stars, Islanders are all eating steamed chicken and wearing Crocs.
No, we immediately retract that Croc shade. Slay.
The point is, the rules have been tightened over the years, but that makes sense as reality telly was generally VERY different in 2015 compared to today.
One element of the show that has become no-nonsense is the eyes of producers is alcohol. We already know that producers are very strict regarding how much alcohol Islanders can consume when in the villa, and if you're wondering why, can we remind you of Big Brother's Fight Night in Big Brother 5? If you're a Gen Z, Google it.
There you go.
The alcohol rules are always a talking point amongst modern-day Islanders, so naturally we had to ask All Star Demi Jones about any revisions to the alcohol rules when she popped into our studios to film an episode of Love Island: All Stars secrets.
As well as revealing just how "disgusting" her fellow All Stars are ( fair warning – this is a poo story), she also touched upon a new alcohol rule. As per, Islanders are only allowed two drinks per night, but this time, there's HUGE, sobering gap in between drink one and drink two.
Demi exclusively told us, "Alcohol, unfortunately, is always strict. You think we're having it off at those parties, but we're having two drinks a night – and they're separated within hours of each other. So, honestly, you do not feel the drink whatsoever."
Demi explained that as a result she decided to ditch drinking in the villa all together, adding, "I drunk for the first couple of nights and then I just asked for apple juice. What is the point?"
Tesco's own or Copella?
Probably Copella, she is an All Star.
Most Islanders are good boys and girls and follow ITV's strict rules to a T, but some have certainly managed to drink WAY more over the years, and in a couple of cases, they have managed to get themselves well and truly smashed, leaving them at the mercy of Love Island producers...
Naughty, naughty.
