She always puts her family first – and last week Stacey Solomon shared sweet snaps of her 94-year-old grandmother, who has just moved into a care home close to Pickle Cottage.
But insiders claim it’s just the start of Stacey’s dream of bringing her family closer together, as the mum-of-five is also said to be considering building a guest house for extended family members to use when they visit.
The source tells Closer, “Although Stacey has been flying high recently with all her business deals, it has been an emotional time as she finally managed to persuade her beloved grandma to move into a care home near to where she and her sister live.
“She feels pressure as the big earner in her family to take care of everyone and loves having them stay with her, which is why she’s thinking about expanding their home. She’d do anything for anyone, but sometimes Joe has had to remind her not to get stressed by planning it all and that although it’s a lovely idea, there’s no rush.”
Since shooting to fame on The X Factor in 2009, Stacey, 34, has made a name for herself as a reality TV star, presenter and influencer, and as a result of her hard work, she is now worth a reported £5 million, potentially earning as much as £12,000 for each branded Instagram post.
And Stacey likes to share her wealth with her loved ones – which includes providing space in her home for regular visits.
The source explains, “Stacey feels she should always be as generous as she possibly can, even though it stresses her out – she also wants to make sure she has enough for herself and the kids, as well as building a business empire that she can one day pass down to them.”
Stacey and Joe – who share son Rex, four, and daughters Rose, two, and Belle, eight months, as well as Stacey’s sons Zachary, 15, and Leighton, 11, and Joe’s son Harry, 16, from previous relationships – also hinted they could be ready to grow their family by becoming foster parents, following Joe’s 2023 documentary Teens In Care.
In an interview, Joe – who began dating Stacey in 2016 before they tied the knot last summer following a two-year engagement – admitted, “It’s something Stacey and I have talked about and it’s something that we’ll always consider. When our kids get older and the last ones are at secondary school, maybe then we’ll try to foster ourselves.”
The source adds, “With that in mind, Stacey is convinced extra room at Pickle Cottage could become a necessity if they do go on to foster – she wants everyone to be together.
“Joe has said extending their home is quite a desperate move that would take a lot of time and money, plus getting planning permission could be a real headache, but Stacey has said it’s something she wants them to consider.
“Seeing her grandma go into a care home has made things seem real and she can’t stop worrying about the future. She wants to make sure everyone gets looked after.”
