Sophie Kasaei has hit back at reports that she’s been axed from Geordie Shore with an impassioned tweet
The Sun reported that the star – who was part of the original cast in series one, in 2011 – had been axed from the show for the second time, and would be taking a back seat role in the upcoming series, only appearing for select scenes.
However, Sophie has taken to her social media to slam the claims, insisting that she was about to start filming.

When a follower asked if it was true she had been axed, she responded, “Oh my god of course not! I’m filming tomorrow for the new series”.

The news will be reassuring for fans of Sophie, who returned to the show in 2016 after four years away.
Following a controversial allegation that Sophie had used racist language - which she denied - she was asked to leave the show, leaving her struggling with her mental health.
Speaking exclusively to Closer magazine, she said she’s “so much happier” following a turbulent few years, with her business failing and her parents divorcing after 26 years.
“I felt like I’d lost everything and was left thinking, 'What else can go wrong?' I was going out partying to take my mind off it and staying out for days on end.
“I had depression, and I started getting suicidal thoughts. I just didn’t want to be here any more.”
