Giovanna and Tom Fletcher’s relationship: a look back from the very beginning

Tom and Giovanna met at Sylvia Young Theatre School, London in 1998. They were both 13 years old when they started, and from there the relationship grew. Tom has said on YouTube, "Fate brought us together in assembly on her first day of school… as soon as she came down and sat next to me, I kinda knew."By 2003, they officially started dating and what a better way to celebrate than with their first holiday together to New York.

Fast forward to 2011 and the couple went back to where they first met at Sylvia Young Theatre School. Tom proposed to Giovanna in the exact same spot their relationship began, after knowing each other for 13 years. Tom wrote a song about Giovanna in 2003 called It's All About You... Honestly, who wouldn't them to get engaged?

In 2012, a year after their engagement, Tom and Giovanna got married with Gi's brother Mario Falcone, and the rest of McFly being the ushers. The following year Tom posted a video his wedding speech that was written to the tunes of some of McFly's songs. The video also featured a choir from Sylvia Young Theatre School – making the speech even more emotional. This video went viral and currently has over 22 million views. It was a moment we will always remember and also when we became obsessed with their relationship.

In October 2013, the couple released a pregnancy announcement video and in true Tom Fletcher style, it was done through carving pumpkins with a song in the background sung by the happy couple.Following this, in March 2014 they announced the birth of their first son Buzz. The video featured Tom singing and playing guitar to a song he had written, whilst showing Giovanna's pregnancy transformation across the nine months from Bump to Buzz.

At the beginning of September 2015, the happy couple revealed they were expecting another baby in a cute announcement video. Then in February 2016 they welcomed their second child Buddy into the world. "We took photos almost every day of the pregnancy… again! Well, we did it for Buzz so how could we not do it for Buddy. "We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we love looking back over the last 9 months of our lives that brought us our second son Buddy Bob Fletcher," they wrote on YouTube.The video again showed Gi's transformation from Bump to Buddy and in the background Tom sung a song he had written. Cute.

Tom and Giovanna both took the career path of an author – Giovanna had been releasing novels since 2013. Tom then went on to release his book The Christmasaurus which was later turned into a stage musical in December 2017. The musical starred Tom's sister and actress Carrie Hope Fletcher, his band mate, Harry Judd, his friend Matt Willis and Giovanna who went back to her roots of acting. After leaving theatre school and turning to writing, performing at The Eventim Appollo in London has apparently made her more enthused than ever about acting in the future.

The couple have worked on many projects individually but they decided it was time for a change – and decided to write a trilogy together. They spoke about what it was like working together, how they planned it, and the process of it. Giovanna wrote on Instagram, "EVE OF MAN has been the perfect project to collaborate with Tom on – born out of a conversation of 'what ifs' and an idea we simply couldn't shake off. I hope you all enjoy the first book in the trilogy!"

What a perfect way to announce their third child – a video of Tom, Giovanna and their two sons in the snow. In early March 2018, they announced Giovanna was pregnant for the third time in a video called 'Snow way… we have something to tell you.' "We thought we'd make it a trilogy. Baby 3 coming September! Couldn't be happier. @mrsgifletcher," Tom wrote on Insta.Gi was actually pregnant whilst performing in The Christmasaurus, but the couple had no idea. Six months later – August 2018 – Tom and Giovanna took to Instagram to announce the birth of their third son, Max. "Our gorgeous son, Max Mario Fletcher was born yesterday afternoon. We are all totally in love with him and can't wait to take him home to meet his brothers. WE HAVE THREE BOYS!"

While Giovanna took part in the first ever I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in Wales, Tom was left with their three sons. Every night Tom supported his wife in the Castle, encouraged viewers to vote for her to do the trials and he also found it emotional when Gi found it tough in the Castle. And after a few weeks away and winning the show - becoming the first ever Queen of the Castle - Gi was reunited with her three boys and Tom.
