Danielle Lloyd: ‘Trolls are just jealous I look this good!’

She’s counting down the weeks until she welcomes her fifth child – and first girl – but a few days ago Danielle Lloyd was left devastated when trolls accused her of having more surgery after bikini pics surfaced of her on a family holiday in Dubai.

Here, she tells Closer how she coped and how she’s staying fit looking after her sons – Archie, 11, Harry, 10, and George, eight, from her marriage to ex Jamie O’Hara and Ronnie, three, whom she shares with husband Michael O’Neill.

Hi Danielle! You’re six months pregnant. how is it going?

It’s going well, thanks – I can’t believe how quickly time has gone. I’ve only got 12 weeks left now, then I’ll be able to hold my little girl in my arms at last. And if that goes as quickly as the first two trimesters, she’ll be here before we know it. We’ve still got to pick a name – we can’t decide on one! But we’re all so excited – especially the boys.

How was your recent holiday in Dubai?

It was amazing – I’d been worried about the Covid-19 tests and the paperwork, but it was all worth it when we got there. It was our last holiday as a family of six and we had the best time – the boys were so well behaved. The only downer was when photos came out online of me on the beach and trolls commented on them. They said I’d had fillers in my lips because they looked swollen.

How did that make you feel?

It’s so frustrating, because I would never have cosmetic surgery or procedures while expecting a baby. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved having work done before [Danielle has had a bum lift, stomach tuck, boob reconstruction, liposuction and eye lift], but I’d never ever get anything done while I’m pregnant – it could put my baby at risk. It’s rubbish and it made me feel so upset at first. I cried – my hormones are all over the place! But then I just got angry. I think they must be jealous of how good I look while pregnant!

Has your body or face changed during pregnancy?

I’ve got friends whose lips swell up while they’re pregnant, and I think that must have happened to me. It’s actually a medically recognised side effect of pregnancy, but it’s not often talked about. Beyoncé has even spoken about it happening to her! I did have lip fillers a while before I conceived, but of course I haven’t had them since.

Are you feeling fit and healthy?

I’ve been very conscious about not gorging on chocolate and Coca-cola like I did when I was pregnant with the boys. I’ve been eating lots of fruit, vegetables and wholesome foods like porridge every day, and I’m snacking on fruit instead of sweets. I’m walking every day, too, doing light weights at the gym and swimming. After having Ronnie, I had a body overhaul – I had my boobs done again, as they were misshapen after a botched surgery, and lipo on my stomach. I don’t want to go through all that again, though, and Michael doesn’t want me to. This time, I want to stay fit while I’m pregnant, then get back in shape the natural way.

Did the fact you’ve had lipo affect your bump?

No, it hasn’t! I wondered if it might, but it hasn’t made it feel stretched or strange, although my bump isn’t yet as big as it was with the boys. I don’t want to have lipo again after this baby, though. I don’t think it’s something I’ll do again.

Would you have other surgery in the future?

I’ve said I won’t before, and then I do, so now I’m going to say, never say never! I do want to start embracing natural ways to deal with ageing. I have had a lot of work done, but Michael hates it and I want to put it behind me now. I’ve started getting really into my skincare, so I can keep the wrinkles at bay naturally. I’d never get a full facelift – I think they look horrible.

Are you prepared for the big arrival?

The nursery is all ready – everything is pink! And she already has a bigger wardrobe than me – she has so much stuff, it’s ridiculous. She’s going to be totally spoilt. I am worried about changing a girl’s nappy. I’m only used to changing boys’ ones! The one thing that really isn’t ready is her name – we can’t agree on one. We’re just hoping that, when we meet her, a name that suits her will come to us. I can’t wait – the countdown is on.
