Dani Dyer has finally shed some light on mum Joanne Mas' decision to name her after her dad Danny
The Love Island winner made the confession when she appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show, admitting there was a very real reason behind the decision - to prevent another woman 'getting in there first'.
The 23-year-old reality TV star explained, “Basically, my dad was a little bit of a playboy when he was younger.
"They got together when they were 14, had me at 19, he was a young actor and wanted to have fun.
"My mum was like, 'If he wants to get with another woman, and have a baby, she knows how women think, if they had a son, she'd call him Danny' so she got in there first."
The couple have had their ups and downs over the years, splitting up brieflywhen Dani was younger but reuniting and tying the knot in 2016.
Danicontinued, "My mum was like, 'I’m going to call her Dani so no other woman can do it'.
"I was like, 'Mum, you think that far ahead? No wonder I’m the same as you!'"

Childhood sweethearts, EastEnders legend Dannyand wife Jo, are also parents to daughter Sunnie, 11, and son Arty, five.
Meanwhile Dani is also smitten with boyfriend Jack after reuniting after a brief split in December.
The pair decided to live separately in a bid to strengthen their relationship after living in such close quarters became too much, too soon.
The star explained, "When we first came out of Love Island, we moved into a flat together and we started filming [our own] show.

"It was sort of way too much and our flat became a work home. It was really hard because we weren’t having those exciting times where you miss each other."
She confirmed the pair - who own adorable bulldog Sandy - are still in love as ever now, adding, "Life is tough so we’re just trying to make it work, that's all we're trying to do. We are together, we are sooo together, we are fine."
