Ariel Winter is an American actress famously known for her role as Alex Dunphy in the comedy Modern Family. The 18-year-old recently spoke out about her breast reduction, which she carried out due to the weight of her 32F chest.
Speaking to Glamour magazine last year about online trolls, she said: “The internet bullies are awful. I could post a photo where I feel good, and 500 people will comment about how fat I am, and that I am disgusting.”
Ariel has recently responded to her online trolls by writing an inspiring message. Taking to Instagram, the actress uploaded a picture with the caption "Nothing but love".
She wrote: “Every time someone bullies me online, it gives me a chance to re-emphasize to my fans, and even myself, how important self-acceptance is.
“Those who saw such harsh things on my Instagram, thank you for this opportunity – but the question I ask myself each time I read the mean comments is if this is how you talk to a stranger online, I can only imagine how cruelly you speak to yourself.
Stop the hate. Accept all that you are and know your flaws are what make you the PERFECT you."
“I love my fans and I love my bullies for that they truly NEED is love. Take the high road, there is less traffic. XO," she concluded.
Indeed, Ariel isn’t the only celebrity to stand up to body shamers; Hollyoaks actress Sarah George
(aka Celine McQueen), Michelle Keegan and more recently Stacey Solomon have all hit back at body shamers.
Last month Stacey was body shamed after being papped wearing a bikini. Taking to social media, she uploaded the photo along with the caption: “I LOVE MY BODY @TheSun My boobs are a result of being pregnant and breast feeding and I love them.
I am just as sexy!” she continued. We agree!
