Holly Willoughby: everything you need to know

She's the golden girl of UK television - fronting more shows than virtually any other British, female presenter.

Not only is Holly Willoughby on TV almost every day on ITV's This Morning alongside' TV hubby' Phillip Schofield, but the pair hare also back to hosting Dancing On Ice.

However, it's not just Holly's charming presenting skills that keep her relevant - a fabulous sense of style, honesty, relatability (she somehow manages to fit in being a gorgeous mummy to her three children Belle, Harry and Chester) and, of course, her wicked sense of humour, all make us want to be her BFF!

Holly was born in Brighton on 10th February 1981.

It's Marie. Meaning her full name is actually Holly Marie Willoughby. Pretty, right?

Holly attended Burgess Hill Girls school, which is an independent private school - schmaaancy.

Holly is of course super glam but she comes from a pretty low key background. Holly's dad, Brian, ran a double glazing company, while her mum, Lynne, was an air stewardess.

Holly Willoughby's job

Holly was just 14 when she was spotted by a model scout at The Clothes Show Live in 1995.

She was then signed by Storm Model management, and modelled in teen magazines such as More!, Mizz and Just Seventeen.

However before making it big, Holly was a receptionist for three years.

Her ultimate goal (besides fame) was to go to university to study psychology. She told Cosmo: "I know that sounds slightly bonkers now but that was my plan, which is quite far away from where I am now."

And if you grew up in the noughties, Holly would have been a very familiar face on your tellybox. Alongside her best pal Ferne Cotton, Holly used to be a poster girl for CBBC and CITV and was the first face many kids used to see on Saturday morning – including fronting the popular show Ministry Of Mayhem with Stephen Mulhern.

Holly married TV producer Dan Baldwin in August 2007. The couple met when they were both working on CITV show Ministry of Mayhem, although Holly admitted she really didn't fancy him at first. She told Women & Home: "At first, I didn’t fancy Dan at all – I didn’t even think about it."

Holly Willoughby's children

Holly and Dan have three children.

In age order, they are Harry, Belle, and Chester. Although Holly keeps a lot of her family life private, occasionally she gives us little peeks into her world, such a this super-cute video all mums will relate to.

She's been clear that she doesn't plan on having any more children but recently did admit she misses being pregnant.

11. Does Holly Willoughby have any pets?

Holly is also a mummy to two insanely cute cats called Teddy and Bluebell.

In October 2016, Holly was left devastated after her little furry friend Roxy passed away. Holly took to Instagram to share the sad news, writing: "Goodbye my friend… RIP Roxy."

She has since welcomed Teddy and Bluebell into her family and it's safe to say they're adorable.

Yes, Holly disclosed this after trolls criticised her spelling on Twitter. Defiantly standing up to the haters, Holly replied to a troll: "Thankyou for flagging up my spelling, I am dyslexic, and don't have time to spell check everything, you may just have to overlook it..."

Holly has graced A LOT of FHM front covers over the years, and holds a special place for the lads mag in her heart. Fronting the last ever issue cover, she said, "We’ve both grown up together – I’ve had 3 children and you’ve had 314 issues but now, with a heavy heart, it’s time to bid you a fond farewell."

Holly is a body-positive role model.

Despite horrible internet trolls labelling Holly as 'fat' over the years, she's always kept her curves and is always body-positive. Speaking about her post-baby body, Holly told Lorraine: "I see my body very differently to how it was when I was younger. My body gave me my three children."

Holly admits Phil could definitely give Bear Grylls a run for his money in the survival stakes. She once said, "You wouldn’t expect it to look at him, but in a life-threatening situation you should always turn to Phillip Schofield.

"On a desert island he would be perfect. Phil is very practical and would build you an amazing shack as well as keep you entertained with all his hundreds of stories."

We very much know Holly as a wholesome TV presenter but she's claimed to have been a bit of a wild child in her younger days. She admitted, "There were times when we went straight from the hotel bar to going live on air at 6am.

"It doesn't help when you read the script and find you've got to drink anchovies in custard with some 8-year-old. That day I was sick live on TV."

Still, check out this all brown number she wore to The Magic Roundabout premiere back in 2005. Eeeeek.

When Holly joined Snapchat in 2016, she recieved thousands of filthy messages.

Holly says she owes her success to just 'being friendly' with everyone.

Holly thinks she's got a knack at getting people to spill on the This Morning sofa. She told Daily Mail, "When I’m interviewing on the sofa for This Morning it just feels like an intimate chat.

"Yes, there can be a producer talking through your earpiece but it all becomes second nature after a while. I don't know if it’s because I come over very natural to the interviewee or it’s good chemistry going on, but it works."

Holly Willoughby's book

Holly has published THREE books, one with best friend Ferne Cotton titled 'The Best Friends Guide To Life', a fiction series called ' School for Stars' and self-help book 'Truly Happy Baby...It Worked For Me' with her sister Kelly, who she describes as ‘a brilliant writer and one of the best mums and most together people I know’.

'School for Stars' is now a best-selling children's book series, with Holly and Kelly penning six novels each.

Holly also reassured new parents everwhere with her 'Truly Happy Baby..It Worked For Me' parenting book - full of personal stories, parenting methods and suggestions.

What a cheeky question to ask (but we were dying to know too). If you must know, Holly made around £21 million in 2017 which reportedly made her the best paid TV presenter in the UK.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have been presenting This Morning together since 2009. We reckon Holly Willoughby woke up with a smile on her face after it was recently revealed that she's received a huge pay rise for This Morning - £200,000.

She presents This Morning alongside her co-host Phillip Schofield and it recently came to light that Phil was being paid waaaaay more than Holly. However after bosses decided they're both being paid £200k when they return to hosting Dancing On Ice, they soon realised Holly should be paid the same amount as Phil on the ITV daytime television show.
