There's something exciting about bouncing on a trampoline whatever your age - don't try to deny it, we know you all bounce on your kids' one when they're not looking.

Right now, the weather is pants so we're already dreaming of summer and all the time we'll be able to spend in the garden. It's the perfect time to make the most of your outdoor space with a new trampoline with models for toddlers and big kids - and if the weather's (still) rubbish, the toddler ones can be used indoors too.

Not only that, but bouncing is a fantastic workout. It works the whole body, is low impact, boosts your cardio, and burns fat quickly. Small rebounders can be used come rain or shine, normally indoors, and are also super fun - who wouldn't love jumping energetically to their favourite playlist?

We've looked at a range of trampolines for toddlers, older children, indoors, outdoors, bounce workouts, and young-at-heart adults too. Have fun bouncing!

What to look for in your trampoline:

Choose a trampoline that explains the weight restrictions and guidelines, and follow them - these can be dangerous pieces of equipment if you don't follow the advice properly.

Safety is paramount when children are involved, so find a trampoline that offers the security of covered springs and brackets. Most offer padded mats and sides, and some models are even designed without springs now.

Depending on the size of your trampoline, some will require a grassy space of up to 2.5 metres to surround your trampoline, should any eager bouncers go flying. It'll be worth keeping this in mind when sizing up your new trampoline for an outdoor space.

"During the pandemic, I bought a cheap trampoline to stay fit indoors, but after having to get it replaced twice due to the spring attachments breaking, I opted for this one by MXL MaXimus Life. Can I leave an outdoor trampoline up all year?

Large trampolines are pretty difficult to take down and store, even more so if you have limited space. If you want a trampoline you can put up and forget about, you'll want to invest in one which is durable and made of rust-free materials. You might also want to consider a winter cover to protect it from the elements - as we all know, the British weather is notoriously fickle.

Larger trampolines should be tied down for safety and will be a godsend on windy days so you don't risk losing it to the next-door neighbour's garden or beyond.
