Glade does sell a few specifically vegan products but its never been confirmed whether its products as a whole are not entirely cruelty-free. This means that the company may test some of its products on animals, or pay a third-party commission to do so.
However, Glade candles are made without phthalates, parabens, or formaldehyde. They're made with a percentage of plant-based wax, and a percentage of palm wax that is RSPO certified. Its wicks are also lead-free.
Are Glade candles safe for cats and dogs?
As a general rule, candles are better for your pet's airways than something stronger like pure essential oils or perfume. However, if you own animals and want to light a candle, make sure it's in a ventilated room, and that your candle lighting habits aren't excessive. Oh, and cats really don't like citrus scents. How to take care of your candle
Glade recommends that you look after your candle as follows: "Place candles in an upright position. Trim wick to about 1 cm before lighting. Always snuff out the flame, do not blow out. Keep the wax pool clear of matches and other debris to avoid flaring. Never burn your candle for more than four hours, and stop use when 1/4 inch of wax remains."
Glade candles vary on burn time from product to product, but generally, they have a burn time of 18 to 24 hours for the smaller candles, going up in duration from there.
Where to get discontinued Glade candles?
