I found a dupe for Clinique’s Pep Start eye cream…and it’s £6.50

Brighter, lifted under-eyes for less than the price of a coffee? We'll take 10, please

Clinique fans rejoice, for the day we have been waiting for has finally arrived. Yes, that's right, your favourite tiny 15ml eye cream can, at last, be purchased for an equally tiny amount of moolah.

Well...kind of.

No, Clinique haven't slashed their prices (we wish) but, here at the Closer, we've been doing some digging for a more affordable but equally revitalising eye cream. Because who has £24 lying about, these days?

Lucky for you, lovely reader, we found one and, it's not just affordable, it's actually a bloody steal.

We're talking about Q and A beauty's Seaweed Peptide Eye Gel (though, we also love the caffeine eye serum and you should definitely check that out too)

With a gorgeous mix of Tripeptide (the very molecule in Clinique's Pep-Start and, would you believe it, Charlotte Tilbury's cult Magic Cream), soothing Aloe Vera and toxin-repellent seaweed, Q and A's eye gel is a powerhouse of anti-ageing ingredients, and one your fine lines CERTAINLY won't want to mess with.

Q+A Seaweed Peptide Eye Gel

£6.50 is too little to fathom and we are well and truly here for it ud83dude4c. However, if you have Amazon prime and don't fancy paying for delivery, you can buy it here, too.

Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream 15ml

If you've never tried the original, we thought we'd just put this here because, we can't deny, it is still a wonderful under-eye cream.

But how does it feel on the eyes?

In short, uber hydrating.

With glycerin among the ever-growing list of wondrous ingredients, the gel works to attract moisture from the air onto the under eyes and, my, you can certainly feel it.

We stan a product you can feel getting to work, and this one feels at once moisturising and warming, almost as if it's knitting those fine lines back together from the second it hits your skin.

The tube lasts around four to five months (and that's using it twice a day) and usually retails for just...£6.50.

Yeah, we know 😇.

And, just so you can do a side by side comparison, the Clinique and Q and A eye gels share no less than SEVEN common ingredients so, erm, what are you waiting for?

How to apply eye cream

For starters, make sure you're applying it at the BEGINNING of your routine. To quote Queen Caroline Hirons, "Applying your eye cream last is like wearing knickers over your trousers."

So, to clarify, that's after your acids/toners and any mists/sprays and before your serums, moisturisers and SPFS.

Take a blob about the size of a pine nut or just under on your index finger and pat it lightly under both eyes and, if puffy eyelids is a problem of yours, take it onto your lids, too.

Don't over apply the product, it won't make it more effective and, equally, don't under apply and drag at the delicate skin there.
