If you're someone who menstruates, you'll know the monthly trip down to the shops to grab whatever period product you need very well.

What if you could avoid that trip altogether, and instead stay tucked up in bed while your tampons/pads/cup/etc were delivered through your letterbox?

This is where period subscription boxes could become your best friend.

We'll level with you here, they can be more expensive than grabbing your usual brand off the shelf, but in some cases they're actually the same price as a premium favourite, and could even work out less over time.

This is especially true of reusable products, like menstrual cups or reusable pads.

If you prefer to stick to tampons and pads however, there are lots of great options out there for personalised boxes under £9 per month.

It couldn't be simpler - you order a box, choose your products, how often you'd like to receive it and ta-da, a period present in the post.

Period subscription boxes have the added bonus of almost always being run by SUPER COOL companies like Ohne, who do away with tampon tax, or DAME who've invented the world's first reusable tampon applicator. No biggie.

Plus, all the boxes included in our list below use organic cotton and biodegradable materials where possible, and some even give back to charities too.

Are reusable period products for me?

There are lots of great options out there for reusable period care, but the two main products are menstrual cups and reusable pads.

Menstrual cups are small cups made from flexible body-friendly plastic that can stay in for up to 12 hours.

You need to empty and rinse them everyday, as well as sterilise them each cycle.

Reusable pads act the same way as single-use ones, only you put them in the wash each time you change them.

Both are more expensive outright than tampons and pads, but could save you money in the long run. Menstrual cups typically run between £10 and £30 and reusable pads cost around £15-25 for a pack of 5-10.
