Real life: ‘We had sex with another couple – on our honeymoon’

Terri and Lee Blackley have slept with 25 strangers during their three-year relationship – and they claim that swinging has made their marriage stronger

For most newlyweds, a honeymoon is a chance to spend some quality time alone. But, during theirs, Terri Blackley and her husband Lee were happy to climb into bed with another couple.

The swingers have slept with 25 strangers since getting together three years ago – and insist it’s the key to a perfect relationship.

Terri, who records a relationship podcast called Mrs Blackley, lives in Suffolk with factory worker Lee and their five children from previous relationships.

She says, “We used to think that swingers were old people having orgies. But there are a lot of young people who are swingers, too.

“Having sex with strangers makes our relationship so much stronger, as it makes us appreciate each other more.”

Terri, 27, and Lee, 31, enjoy the scene so much, they even went swinging on their honeymoon in Majorca in June last year, after getting married in front of 80 of their closest family and friends.

Terri says, “We were on the beach when we received a message from a couple in their 40s, who we’d never met before. They’d seen from our online profile that we were staying in the same area as them and said they would love to meet up.

“It was the last night of our honeymoon, so we decided to have a bit of fun – it felt like a blessing on our marriage.

“We met the couple at their hotel and chatted for about four hours before having sex. It was the perfect evening.”

Terri and Lee met through mutual friends and had been together for six months when they first tried swinging.

Terri says, “Lee knew that I’d previously had lesbian relationships and was intrigued by it, so I suggested a threesome with a woman. We were nervous about how it would affect our relationship, but after a long chat we started looking at online swinging sites. We weren’t interested in paying for an escort, we wanted to find someone who genuinely fancied us.

“We eventually found an attractive lady who was blonde, slim and in her late 40s. Lee said he loved sex with older women because they’re more experienced, and I was keen to experiment.”

They chatted with the woman for six weeks before arranging to meet her.

Terri explains, “We chose a weekend when the kids were away with our ex-partners, and Lee and I agreed that we’d always swing away from home, so we booked into a local hotel.”

But despite her enthusiasm, Terri suffered last-minute nerves.

She says, “I was worried that Lee wouldn’t fancy me after having sex with another woman. I thought he might prefer her body. But as soon as she walked into the hotel bar and we started chatting, my fears melted away. It felt like we’d known each other for years.

“I was very attracted to her. When we got to the bedroom, we started kissing and it escalated from there. At first it was me and the woman while Lee watched, then he joined in and had sex with both of us.

“I thought I might get jealous, but in fact I’d never fancied him more! We all had a brilliant time and when Lee and I got home that evening, we talked about it for hours. He admitted that it initially felt weird seeing me with a woman, but that he’d been really turned on.

“We ended up having the most passionate sex that night – being with another person made us enjoy each other more. It made our bond stronger.”

Now the couple are regulars on the swinging scene and have a single bisexual woman – known as a “Unicorn” – who they meet up with every month, as well as other couples they meet through the site and at swingers’ parties.

Terri says, “We have regular sex with about six different couples. The men don’t touch each other – Lee and I have sex with the woman and I have sex with the men. We all discuss our boundaries beforehand and Lee and I have a strict rule where we don’t kiss the opposite sex, but I can kiss other women. Drink and drugs are an absolute no and condoms and regular STI checks are a must.

“We also have a code word, just in case things go wrong. So far, nothing disastrous has happened, but we’ve met men who couldn’t perform or backed out at the last minute. It’s never a big deal. We just chat with them and watch TV instead. The most important rule is that when it comes to sex, Lee and I do everything together. We never meet anyone on our own and we always message as a couple.”

And, since getting married, the couple say their popularity on the swinging scene has also improved.

Terri say, “Swingers find us even more appealing now we’re married, as they know we’re confident in our relationship. It means our sex life is better than ever!”

Amazingly, the pair say most of their family and friends are supportive of their decision to swing.

Terri says, “My parents and family know and say it’s our decision. Our children are too young to understand, but if they start asking questions when they get older, we’ll be honest.

“Lee is seen as a bit of a legend among his friends, but I’ve been dumped by a few mates because they think it’s disgusting.

“But we’re just very sexual people and swinging is normal to us. We’ve got no shame and shouldn’t have to hide who we really are.

“Lee and I love and trust each other more than words can say – swinging is just our favourite hobby and we hope to pursue it forever."
