Last week, Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, 31, candidly admitted that her wedding day was the "worst day of her life".
Nadiya had an arranged marriage to her husband Abdal when she was just 19 and had only met him once before their big day.
Fortunately, the couple fell in love, with Nadiya admitting she "properly got to know him" after about a year and their marriage has been a happy one.
Patricia Beaumont, 40, married her husband Jason, 44, when she was pregnant and felt she was doing it for everyone but her. But fortunately she fell in love and is now happier than ever.
She tells Closer: “My husband is my soul mate and I love him with all my heart. But it hasn’t always been like this.
“We met when I was only 16 in a nightclub. I fell in lust but not love.
“After two years of seeing each other casually, he became ill with a rare form of cancer that affects the spine – I felt it was my role to help him through it, but he was told the treatment would leave him infertile.
“I was young and the thought of being with a man who couldn’t give me children felt too much, so I decided to end it when I was 20.
“But against the odds, it turned out I was in the early stages of pregnancy. By then Jason was recovered and we decided to get married but it wasn’t romantic. We both wanted the baby to have our name so it seemed to make sense.
“I had very little to do with organising the wedding. There was no
excitement at all.
“We married in a church in September 1996, when I was six months pregnant, with 100 people. But as I walked down the aisle I felt I was doing it for my unborn child and Jason, not for me."
