Bad news for the Lauren Goodgersand Calum Bests of the world – theirs are among then ten boys’ and girls’ names most likely to go extinct in the next few years.
In fact, Lauren’s popularity has declined so quickly that as recently as the year 2000 it was in the TOP twenty most popular girl’s names.
The same can be said for Kieran, but we’re positive it has nothing to do with the questionable antics of Katie Price’s ex Kieran Hayler, oh no.
And funnily enough, Katie’s own moniker from her glamour modelling heyday – Jordan – may have been enjoying popularity for boys’ and girls’ names in the early noughties, now it’s the 7th most “endangered” name on the list and 2nd for girls.
Now this one we really do think might be related – just saying.
Also in danger of becoming extinct are Gemma, Jodie and Shauna (without the ‘gh’) – the names of some of our favourite celeb ladies.
Here’s the full list, compiled by personalised flower delivery company Flowercard:

But it’s not just unpopular names you need to steer clear of if you’re looking to welcome a little one soon –there are also names that are ILLEGAL
Back in 2016, a British mother was banned from naming her baby Cyanide (yes, as in the poison).
Despite this case making headlines, it’s worth pointing out that the UK has very few restrictions in place when it comes to what parents can or cannot name their children.
In fact, the only rule is that a name might not be registered in exceptional cases, when the chosen name could be considered 'offensive' - or harmful to the child. But, even so, this can still be appealed against.

In other countries across the world, things can be a LOT stricter - particularly in New Zealand, where some baby names are genuinely illegal.
Mums and dads are, essentially, banned from choosing names with royal, religious, or offensive connotations - or any name that resembles an official rank or title.
No surprise, then, that the likes of ‘Messiah’ and ‘King’ were big no-no options back in 2015.
And it’s worth pointing out that parents who tried to get around the rules by getting funky with their spellings (Royaal and Royahl - ha!) also wound up on the reject list.
