Former TOWIE star Pete Wicks has opened up about his faded relationship with his dad and why the two are no longer in contact.
Anyone who is a fan of the ex-Essex star knows that he has always had a strong relationship with his mum and his nan, the latter he lost last summer.
Pete shares countless pics of his mother and grandmother on his social media account and when he lost his nan in 2022 he dedicated an entire post to his "best friend," and offered up some heart breaking confessions, "Despite knowing this time would always come it doesn’t make it any easier."
On a recent episode Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing's Private Parts podcast, Pete discussed how he's incredibly close to his mum but siad, "I don’t believe in family’s thicker than water sh*t."
Pete mentioned his upbringing and that his parents divorced when he was 11 years old and his "old man left", leading on to the duo chatting about Pete working from the age of 13 in order to pay his mum.
Jamie asked, "Relationship with your dad? How is it now?"
Pete said, "I have nothing to do with him, don’t speak to him at all."
Pete explained, "My dad's not a bad person - he’s a good guy. We just don’t have a relationship and that’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes."
Pete, who is best pals with Sam Thompson that he co-hosts the Staying Relevant podcast with, went on to say, "We don’t have a relationship and that’s that. Not much I can do about it.
"It hasn’t stopped me from wanting to be around people who do bring something to your life."
