While her nemesis Coleen Rooney has a rumoured fly-on-the-wall series in the works, Rebekah Vardy, 41, has been living a more low-key life in the wake of their Wagatha battle.
However, that could be about to change amid increasing speculation that Becky may join the revamped series of Celebrity Big Brother, set to return to our screens in early March.
Now a source says that while Becky – who has starred on both I’m A Celebrity..! in 2017 and Dancing On Ice in 2021 – is open to the idea, her footballer husband Jamie, 37, isn’t so keen.
A source close to Becky says, “CBB are desperate to sign Becky for the new series. They think she’ll be a massive ratings boost, and that she’ll be unable to resist dishing the dirt on what she really thinks about Coleen. Becky is up for it, but Jamie is concerned it will open up a hornet’s nest. But if Becky decides to do it, then he’ll support her 100 per cent – just as he always has.”
A big paycheck from Celebrity Big Brother would also be welcome for Becky, who is reportedly paying back £1.8 million of 37-year-old Coleen’s legal fees for the Wagatha court case – leaving Leicester City footballer Jamie as the main breadwinner.
And as well as the money, Becky’s keen to show a different side to her in an attempt to revive her reputation.
The source says, “It’s a good chance for Becky to earn some money in her own right, which is important to her. And she’s still angry about the way things played out in the trial. Going on CBB will give her the chance to put the record straight and have her say. She knows Coleen is very likely to do more reality TV, so she wants the chance to have her own platform and counter anything Coleen might put out there.”
