As the cast of TOWIE jump back into filming, one face that will be noticeably absent from our fave structured reality show (sorry Love Island), is Essex crush Pete Wicks.
At the start of the year, Pirate Pete announced he was stepping away from TOWIE, or at least would no longer be a regular fixture on the Essex scene, and WHY, PETE? WHHHHHY?
In the new series of his podcast, Staying Relevant, that he co-hosts with BFF and bundle of blond haired chaos Sam Thompson, Pete divulged some juicy deets.
Pete was chatting to Sam about a speech he gave at the Houses of Parliament and couldn't help but dig out his old job.
"Interesting day. Interesting people. It was a lot like TOWIE actually because that's another place full of f**king snakes and sh*t storylines," he said on the podcast.
OUCH.
You can always rely on Pete to offer up some absolutely savage commentary.
Sam then used the opportunity to find out if his TOWIE pal was 'booted' from the show.
"Course not," Pete replied immediately before going on to say "I had to change the statement to say I may appear in the future."
"Why?" Sam quizzed.
"Because they don't want me to say I'm done," Pete admitted.
Nobody wants to hear that you are done with TOWIE, Pete. Not one soul.
Sam took it upon himself to read out Pete's statement regarding his exit and couldn't help but laugh at some of his friends not-quite-honest comments.
"'I will sincerely miss filming everyday with the cast and crew' - now that's a f**king lie because you have turned up to the podcast and have been like 'I don't know why I'm still doing it.'"
"It's only a part lie because, as you well know, I love all the crew," Pete corrected.
Sam then laughed and said "He just hates the cast."
We shouldn't be surprised, he previously branded his co-stars 'dickheads' and later threw shade at 'car crash' TOWIE stars.
Continuing their TOWIE discussion Sam asked, "What would it take to get Pete Wicks back on TOWIE?"
Pete's response was very Pete as he replied with one word and one word only, "Death."
Sam then demanded to know whose demise could make the lothario return to the streets of Essex and Pete confessed, "I probably wouldn't even go back for death."
Savage as always, Mr. Wicks.
But the real reason for Pete leaving the show is much more straightforward, "I don't want to be filming it anymore. I'm too old to be filming it."
