Former Love Island star and influencer Malin Andersson has spoken out about her split from her daughter's Xaya's father Jared nearly three months after she gave birth.
Malin confirmed that she and Jared had decided to split five weeks after their daughter arrived. Taking to Instagram to confirm the news, she wrote, "I have always prided myself on being open and transparent on here so I want to let you all know that myself and Jared are no longer together.
"We split around four weeks ago and have since been trying to come to terms with everything and process it all.
"We are co-parenting Xaya as she of course comes first in all of this but we would appreciate some space as we navigate through this separation."
She continued, "I don't want to go into more detail at the moment, my baby girl is my main priority and I am building myself back up with what fuels my strength - friends, family, exercise and meditation.
"I didn't expect any of this to happen, I feel truly blindsided... but as always, I trust the universe has a plan for me."
A few weeks on from her statement, Malin took to Instagram again to reveal more details about Xaya's father, saying, "In deep thought feeling emotional as I've come on my period today lol. Just thinking - even though me and Jared aren't together right now and are just having some space I'm hella lucky how amazing he is as Xaya's dad and how he's still got my back still no matter what. That is what you call a solid bond.
"Cos he's so private and hates the limelight ya'll aren't able to see his personality or get to know him. But he is one special person."
In a statement released on February 4 2022, Malin shared that she had given birth to a baby girl and that she and Jared were "completely in love".
In a statement to MailOnline, Malin revealed that she had welcomed her little one on her due date almost a week before.
A spokesperson for Malin said, "We are super excited to share that Malin gave birth to a healthy baby girl last Friday 28th January on her due date."
Malin recently took to Instagram to finally share her baby girl's name writing, "Here she is.. Meet XAYA".
Although Malin hasn't revealed exactly what the name Xaya means to her and her partner Jared, Xaya is typically a Hindu name meaning Shadow.
Malin's post continued saying, "Me and Jared have been in the most beautiful, surreal baby bubble and so I took a month out to just focus on our family.
"I ended up having an emergency c-section with her, they took her out of the same scar Consy came from... that was a bittersweet experience for me which I needed to take in after.
"I can’t even describe the amount of love she has given us, and how it feels to be a mum again - but to a healthy baby. I look at her and I have to pinch myself...
"She’s the spit of her dad, and is covered in black thick hair 🤣 (I’m jealous.)"
The couple first announced the news that they were expecting in August 2021, writing on Instagram, "My next chapter. My new beginning. My happy ending. My entire universe. All mine.
"Everything I’ve ever wanted, everything I visualised. A solid partner in my life, who has been there in the background - witnessed my life over the past 4 years and has stuck by me as a friend.. and now a lover. This couldn’t feel any more right - and we’re now bringing a beautiful soul into this world."
Malin, 28, previously suffered suffered heartache in January 2019 when her one-month old daughter Consy passed away after being born seven weeks premature.
