When you are judging on a primetime show on the telly, you need to have your wits about you. Oh and only raid the free bar after you have done a suitable amount of head nodding and ‘you sound like a popstar’ -ing. (Louis Walsh we are looking at you.)

Hilariously funny judge David Walliams however owned up to a fundamental mistake on Britains Got Talent and has since apologized. The gaff in question? Saying ‘no’ to the insanely talented 12-year-old Kyle Tomlinson from Sheffield three years ago.

The youngster claimed that David Walliams had been ‘harsh’ to him during his previous audition and told him he needed more practice and singing lessons.

Oh David! Even Mr Nasty Simon Cowell (who has admittedly mellowed since baby Eric's arrival) did a sigh so loud it shook our tv screen.

Kyle, who is now 15, arrived back on the show last night (Saturday 20 May) and belted out a rendition of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah and the crowd were in awe.

It was SO good. It is going to become our Sunday evening song we play when we are making a pesto pasta for tomorrow's lunch. Or when we hoover.

David clearly felt guilty from his past dismissal (we mean, THAT VOICE) and reached for the Golden Buzzer, giving the teen a fast track straight to the semi finals of the show.

‘I thought it was really good.’ the telly judge told Kyle Tomlinson.

'Well done Kyle, it was a really really moving performance, and I’m really glad you came back and proved me wrong.'

Simon wisely said, ‘When someone grinds you down and says ‘you’re not good enough’ you come back and look them in the eye and say ‘I am good enough’.
