Although he was unknown when he first appeared on TOWIE back in 2015, Pete Wicks has basically become a household name in the nine years that have passed thanks to his extensive reality TV exploits.
As well as appearing on the ITVBe structured reality show, Pete has also taken part in the likes of Celebs Go Dating (three times), Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins (twice), The Celebrity Circle and Celebrity Masterchef among others. He’s also currently competing on Strictly with his professional dance partner Jowita Pryzstal.
Having starred on his fair share of shows, Pete has confessed that’s he ready to pack in reality TV for good – although there is one exception.
Speaking about his lengthy telly career, Pete said, ‘I've had 10 years of doing shows. I've survived a decade. I have been a contributor on nearly every show. It is time to step aside and hand the baton on to younger, better looking, more talented people.
‘Plus I am too old and have too much grey hair to be doing dating or reality shows anymore.’
However, there is one show that Pete would love to appear on with his BFF and podcast co-host Sam Thompson.
‘The only reality show I would still love to do would be Celeb Race Across The World which Sam would love us to do,’ he told The Sun.
The pair might not make it all the way to the end though, as Pete joked, ‘To be honest he's the only person who would put up with me. I'd have to do it with him or alone.
‘But I'm not sure Sam and I would finish together. I would probably have to leave him somewhere!’
Pete is currently appearing on two shows at one time, which is impressive even for him, as his second attempt at Celeb SAS is currently airing on Channel 4 at the same time he’s competing on Strictly.
According to reports, this left BBC bosses ‘disappointed’ that one of the stars of their flagship show is on another channel at the same time.
They thought it would have already aired by now, as it was filmed last summer,' a source told the same publication.
'It's one of those things and nobody is angry at Pete, it's just a disappointing situation.'
