Three years on from allegations of his abusive behaviour, Charles Drury and Lauren Goodger have sparked rumours that they’ve rekindled their romance. Now, insiders tell Closer that they’re even planning to move in together.
A source reveals, ‘Lauren hasn’t officially said it, but having Charles around more has made him a permanent fixture in her life again and friends think it’ll be a matter of weeks until he moves back in. Lauren says she’s just having him around for their daughter, but those close to her suspect it’s more than that.’
Rumours swirled after the pair – who began dating in 2020 and now share four-year-old daughter Larose – recently joined a TikTok live with TOWIE co-stars Junaid Ahmed and Joe Blackman.
Some fans were surprised that they might be back together, given that Charles, 26, was previously charged with assault and engaging in controlling behaviour towards Lauren, 38, although those charges – which he denied – have since been dropped. This all followed the tragic stillborn birth of their second daughter, Lorena, in 2022.
Our insider says, ‘There’s a lot of water under the bridge with them but Lauren doesn’t want to put any pressure on them as a couple. She had to move on. There was no happiness or closure in holding on to bad memories – she wants to start making some happy ones again. Lauren’s aware what people will be saying behind her back, but she knows what she’s doing.’
In December, Lauren opened up to Closer about how she’s desperate to have another baby. She said, ‘I’d love another sibling for Larose… I definitely want to get married and have more kids, as many as I can. I’d love a boy so badly, I want to raise a good man and teach them how to treat a woman, because we’re lacking good men these days.’
While getting back with Charles could have been spurred on by her desire to grow their family, sources say she’s also enjoying seeing him and Larose together.
The source adds, ‘Lauren doesn’t care what people say or think, it’s her business and seeing Larose happy with her Daddy makes her heart burst with joy. She just wants some peace and a happy ending, but some of her friends still worry and wonder if Charles is the one that will bring her that.’
