It’s fair to say that the latest series of TOWIE has pretty much been dominated by the love drama involving Dan Edgar, Ella Rae Wise, who he’s currently dating (well, we think - we'll get to that), and Amber Turner, his ex-girlfriend of six years.
Dan and Ella sparked a flirty holiday fling during the cast’s trip to Bali at the start of series 33 and their blossoming relationship has continued back in Essex, with the pair going on a number of romantic (well, as romantic as fishing can be) dates.
Although things were going swimmingly for Dan and Ella on-screen, here's the major twist, this was all filmed weeks and weeks ago - which means life has carried on for the better and for the worse in the lives of our TOWIE kings and queens.
And while the cast are told not to spoil any storylines by producers, a few of them just can't help but drop hints in the here and now – often in the form of passive aggressive meme shares on their Instagram stories. And if Ella's recent stories are anything to go by, we're putting money on trouble in paradise when it comes to her and Dan.
It started in April, when she posted a cryptic quote about “pure intentions” after partying without him.
“It doesn't matter how dirty others play you. Karma has a big appetite these days,” the quote read.
“Move with pure intentions.”
And in June (now - hey 👋 Love Island's on, FYI), she has taken to her story once again to share a meme defining the term 'girl boss'.
The meme reads, "A woman in control, taking charge of her own circumstances in work and life. Someone who knows her worth and won't accept anything less."
Re 'work', she's definitely talking about her new fashion brand, BEMEÈ, but 'life'? This just whiffs of Dan Edgar.
Which we imagine smells like a lot of Tom Ford.
She followed this up with another post, which read, "Your next level is loading...
"Stay consistent!"
Ella's latest posts follow rumours that Dan allegedly cheated on Ella while she was in Dubai.
According to reports, Dan got together with former flame Hannah Rally – who he was pictured with last year following his split from Amber Turner – during Ella’s trip to Dubai last month.
“Dan was dating Hannah for around nine months, they got together shortly after he split from Amber. Things were going really well and he even told her he loved her – but he said he wasn’t ready for anything serious,” a source told The Sun.
“Next thing he is in Bali for Towie filming and is getting with Ella. Hannah was obviously really shocked, but she just didn’t want the drama to decide to wash her hands of him.
“But they ended up getting together again when Ella was out of town in Dubai."
However, following the cheating allegations, a representative for Dan told the publication, “There is no issue between Dan and Ella, they both speak regularly, but are very much still single."
