The best thing about TOWIE is that it is so much more than just a weekly reality show; it's an immersive, 360-degree experience giving drama 24/7. Thanks to the wonderful/chaotic world of social media we can check in on our TOWIE stars at any given time, and given that their stock and trade is 'reality', they scarcely hold anything back.
Take what's been going on in the last couple of weeks as an example; TOWIE is currently not airing on our telly screens, it has however just started production on series 34. ITV sent those lucky guys and gals to Cyprus to film the first few eps there, and naturally, thanks to the socials, we've been gifted a BTS look at all the goings on - who's hanging out with who, who's getting close to who, who's wearing what, and above all, who's beefing with who before anything has even aired.
Fair warning, our tongue remained firmly placed in our cheek while writing this, erm, news story...
Cue us glancing at Dan Edgar's Instagram grid and us spotting an, erm, row involving Dan, James 'Diags' Bennewith, a 'flight attendant' and a 'Susan'. Okay, we say 'row'... and we say 'flight attendant'...
But there definitely was a 'Susan' involved... and a 'Susie'.
Dan recently posted an array of Cyprus snaps on his grid, the first of the bunch being a lovely picture of him and bezzie Diags. The top comment on this picture is from a lady actually named Susan, who wrote, "Can't stand these two."
Not nice, Susan.
What Susan neglected to remember is that these two are TOWIE stars and are therefore basically addicted to the drama, so naturally, they replied.
While Dan replied saying, "No drama, Susan," Diags took it up a notch by writing, "Nah, f*ck you, Susan."
Naturally, the comments have exploded, with one TOWIE fan writing, "At least Dan replied politely to that comment. You, Diags, let yourself down by your comment it’s not clever at all just shows you up tbh."
To which Dan replied (addressing Diags), "Susie and Susan trying to take you down tonight @diags 🍿."
To be fair to the boys, they were just responding to some unsolicited negativity from someone other commenters have now dubbed a 'Karen'. Ironically, 'Susan' works just fine, too.
Although both are pretty misogynist, so could we have neither in future please? Ta.
The cast returned to Essex this week after a few glorious days in Cyprus, and now we're wondering exactly how long are ITV going to keep us waiting for all this fresh TOWIE content/did Dan serve drinks on the plane ride home?
