Strictly Come Dancing contestant Pete Wicks has apparently managed to wind up BBC bosses during his stint on the entertainment show. Why are we not surprised? Although, honestly, we're not sure it's even his fault.
The former TOWIE star is one of many famous faces taking part in this Strictly 2024, alongside dancing pro Jowita Pryzstal, but it's been reported that Pete has found himself in hot water because he is also appearing on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins at the same time.
In his defence, reality TV is Pete's bread and butter. Sure, he co-hosts the Staying Relevant podcast alongside BFF Sam Thompson, but let's be honest, his REAL job is starring in as many reality TV shows possible.
From TOWIE, Celebrity Masterchef and now Strictly to Celebs Go Dating, The Celebrity Circle and Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, Pete has done it all.
But it turns out that BBC bosses are livid that SAS is airing at the same as Strictly as it 'makes their cast seem less special'.
That feels like low key shade if we're being honest.
A source told The Sun, 'They took a chance on Pete as he is not their typical booking and they were in shock when the airdate for SAS was announced to kick off the same week as their show went live.'
But as we previously mentioned, it looks as though the bigwigs aren't actually mad at Pete but more the situation.
'They thought it would have already aired by now, as it was filmed last summer,' the source added, 'It's one of those things and nobody is angry at Pete, it's just a disappointing situation.'
Good news for us here at Closer HQ as well as all the middle aged mums who fancy Pete, because now we get to see him being all sultry and sexy on Strictly and all rough and rugged on Celebrity SAS.
