We’ve come to learn many things as avid viewers of delicious EastEnders drama. 1) Anything can happen. Literally anything. 2) When Peggy Mitchell tells you to get outta her pub. You do. 3) When you ‘die’, there’s a strong possibility that you can come back alive and kicking – with not many questions being asked.
Take Dirty Den, Kathy Beale, Nick Cotton; they’ve all come back from the dead over the years – so why can’t it happen again?
BBC bosses are reportedly planning an ALMIGHTY 'return from the dead' storyline for I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Larry Lamb after he proved to still be ever so popular with viewers.
According to The Daily Star, bosses are apparently already planning a storyline that will bring his character, evil Archie Mitchell, back from the dead.
Archie's murder sparked one of the biggest whodunnits in soap history, where Stacey Slater was finally unmasked revealed as his killer during the 25th anniversary live episode - after he brutally raped her.
Larry’s portrayal of the evil Archie Mitchell, the father of Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell, won him a National Soap Award back in 2010.
A source said: "EastEnders has a new producer on board so anything can happen.
"The nation has fallen in love with Larry once again and this time it could spell the return of Archie."
Larry explained that the story is not as far-fetched as it may seem, adding:
"The problem is when I left EastEnders nobody knew who killed Archie Mitchell…
"So six months later when I’m long gone and having a new life, then they go and kill Archie Mitchell and you start finding out all this...
"Stranger things have happened!"
Of course, EastEnders have made no comment about the plans, but as Larry said – anything can happen.
Maybe he could come back as a ghost, just like Pat Butcher did when Peggy Mitchell took her last breath earlier this year.
Viewers already know that Archie's daughters are leaving are leaving the soap AT THE SAME TIME after a decade of award-winning drama in the new year. Could Archie come and haunt Ronnie one last time...
Rita Simons, who plays Roxy Mitchell, recently opened up about her true feelings about the biggest exit storyline of the year, admitting the whole thing was 'breaking her heart' - which will see the sisters killed off in a shock move by new producer Brian Kirkwood.
Admitting that she and Sma had to be 'strong for each other’, Rita said:
"When Sean brought the idea to me, it was like I knew I was being given a kick, I knew I needed to do it, and I’m a big believer in the universe guiding you to where you need to go. I know in my heart of hearts it’s the right thing to do. I needed to get out. I needed to spread my wings. But because they’re like my family there, you don’t want to leave them."
Line up the tissues for New Year guys...
