The last time we saw the actor Paul Loughran was in 2000 when he was playing Emmerdale's Butch Dingle.
But now Paul is back in another show – Coronation Street. This isn't the first time Paul has appeared in Coronation Street. In 1992 he made two separate appearances, as PC Goldman and another police officer.
When he returns to the show he will play Craig Tinker's dad, Darryl. Craig (played by Colson Smith) will find out about his dad on his 18 birthday after he discovers that his dad is a criminal.
After his application to join the police force is rejected, his mother Beth Sutherland (played by Lisa George) is forced to reveal the secret she has been keeping from him - that his father has been in and out of prison for most of his life.

Beth also reveals that she is the person who shopped Craig's dad to the police after his first offence which is why she didn't tell him.
As Beth tries to make it up to her son, it looks like trouble is brewing as Craig's dad comes to the cobbles.
A Coronation Street source told The Metro: "Paul has filmed some scenes as Darryl and there is huge drama ahead for the Tinkers as Craig comes face to face with his dad."
