Mel Owen's son Hunter is set to arrive on the Square very soon

It was recently confirmed that Mel Owen is returning the EastEnders and now BBC bosses have revealed her 15-year-old son Hunter, played by Charlie Winter, will also arrive on the square.

The last time viewers saw Mel was 16 years ago when she fled the country after her husband Steve Owen's drug dealing business caught up with her. When she left the square she was pregnant with Steve's baby - he died in that awful car explosion, remember?

Later on and with everyone against him, Max realises his only ally is his ex Stacey. The frazzled mum is gearing up to play an angel in the Walford Nativity play, but Max lures her back to her house pretending he's left his wallet there. The ginger plotter is keen to get Stacey on side but when she realises he's lied to her, a furious Stace tells him to leave. However, Max isn't finished yet and when he goads her, telling her that she's lost her, "Slater spark", she angrily lashes out and slaps him. OUCH!

Fans of EastEnders were none the wiser on whether Mel had a baby girl or a boy but they'll soon discover the truth when her son Hunter arrives on the square. Bosses have teased that the 15-year-old will be charming and charismatic but will he have his dad's dark traits too?

Speaking about his first acting role, Charlie Winter who will play the teenager has said: "I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be on such an iconic show as EastEnders.

"It still feels really surreal that this has happened. It’s an exciting time for me and I can’t wait to get stuck in and for everyone to meet Hunter."
