But she is set to return to Walford - and the late Lucy Beale's step mum, thought by many to be her murderer, is 'frantic'.
Speaking with Digital Spy, Laurie explained: “Jane is frantic because Bobby has gone missing.
"She is all the way up in Birmingham and he has pretended that he is emailing Ian in London, so she assumes that her little boy is up in London somewhere.”

Little Bobby is finally found, perfectly safe, after having rushed back to Walford to investigate his big sister's murder.
We wonder if he'll have more luck than the police?
Laurie Brett also revealed that Jane will play a big part in the upcoming twist in the murder case next week, which sees Denise Fox (Diane Parish) digging up Lucy’s missing phone and purse.
As viewers know, the late Lucy's personal items were buried by Jay Mitchell (Jamie Borthwick) and her uncle, Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid) earlier this year - but will they cover their tracks in time?
Laurie said: “It’s a minefield. Jane is going to stay, so obviously she is involved in all of that. It is something highly significant and they don’t know what to do about it all.”
