Johnny Connor has some distressing news in Coronation Street next week, as he's diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis

Johnny Connor has been worried about his health for the past few weeks, after suffering a series of falls and losing sensations in his hands. He's convinced himself it's nothing to worry about, so gets a shock when he's told he has Multiple Sclerosis. A devastated Johnny tells a concerned Kate that it's just an infection and really nothing to worry about. She buys it - for a while - but when Johnny makes a big decision about his future with Jenny Bradley, Kate realises there's more to it.

Kate confronts her dad about what's going on and this time he opens up and admits he's been diagnosed with MS. Kate is heart-broken.

She's even more shocked when Johnny tells her not to tell Jenny. He doesn't want her finding out and he doesn't want her becoming his carer.

Will Kate convince Johnny to accept help from the people who care about him? And more importantly, will his diagnosis mean the return of Corrie legend Carla Connor?

Alison King, who played Carla, is rumoured to be heading back to the cobbles by the end of the year. Is this the beginning of her return storyline?

We certainly hope so!
