Bethany Platt's rape scenes in Coronation Street are being investigated by Ofcom
Coronation Street storylines of late have been more than a little heart-wrenching.
Michelle Connor's devastating miscarriage wasn't exactly an easy watch - but it did raise awareness of late miscarriages.
And now Bethany Platt's terrible child grooming storyline which has seen her gang raped by a group of men has left viewers slightly traumatised.
Actress Lucy Fallon, who plays the teenage Bethany, has been forced to defend the storyline numerous times.

But it seems that some viewers still aren't happy about the scenes, as an official Ofcom investigation has been launched into the soap.
Whilst Corrie producers have staunchly refused to budge on their position, saying that their episodes meet guidelines, the broadcast regulator recived five complaints over episodes which were shown as part of the omnibus episodes shown on a Saturday morning.
The episode in particular which received the complaints was one showing three men paying for sex, and then following the 16-year-old Bethany into a bedroom.
It also featured a scene in which Shona was beaten up and stamped on by a group of men.
The five complaints were over the episode which was shown at 8.50am on 3 June.
An Ofcom spokesperson said: "We're investigating whether this Saturday morning omnibus episode contained scenes that were unsuitable for broadcast at that time."
This comes after a scene in June received 13 Ofcom complaints, but Amanda Holden's low-cut dress on Britain's Got Talent garnered 216 complaints.
