Coronation Street viewers will be devastated to hear that they're going to miss out on four Coronation Street episodes
There's bad news in store for Coronation Street fans as ITV bosses have announced that four episodes are being cancelled for – you guessed it – football.
Instead of the usual Friday and Monday night Corrie episodes, they're being replaced with two football matches. Sports fans will get to see England play against Malta and Slovakia in the World Cup qualifiers.
Unfortunately, that means viewers will be missing out on a whopping four episodes during the first week of September. Soap fans will miss out on two episodes on Friday September 1 and another two more episodes on Monday September 4.

Luckily there will be an hour long episode on Sunday 3 September but still, what are we doing to do without our Coronation Street fix?!
There's too much drama happening in the street, there's trouble in paradise for Sarah Platt and Gary Windass, Gemma Winter continues to fear that Rita Sullivan has dementia and we're still waiting for Carla Connor's return to the cobbles.
Not only all that but things are set to take an awful turn next week with evil Pat Phelan. Viewers are aware that he has been keeping Andy Carver prisoner since January when he attacked him with a laptop, but in upcoming scenes it looks like the villain is ready to get rid of Andy once and for all.
As Andy cries out for help, the conniving builder begins to dig a grave for his hostage – is this finally the end for Andy?
Eek!
