7. Toyah Battersby's big return!
When we last saw Toyah Battersby, who left the cobbles in 2003 after she discovered her boyfriend John Arnley cheated on her with her roommate Maria Connor, things weren't going too well. But this christmas, the feisty character is back with an ALMIGHTY BANG.
The details behind her comeback storyline are being kept extremely hush hush by ITV bosses but it looks like her sister Leanne will not be getting the peaceful festive break she was so looking forward to.
6. Barlow boys continue to cause heaps of trouble
The brand new Barlow boys, Adam and Daniel, will be causing carnge all over the cobbles during the festive period and we wouldn't have it any other. Well, Adam will, anyway.
Adam and Aidan Connor's rivalry over Maria will turn incredibly violent over the christmas period as Maria refuses to be Aidan's 'other women' and spends the night with a very keen Adam Barlow instead. Mainly to get back at Aidan, of course.
Will this make Aidan's true feelings come to light? And how will he be able to explain his jealously? Will this expose him as a cheat?
5. Leanne's baby secret to be revealed?
This particular storyline has been bubbling away under the surface for a long while but will it all be unravelled over Christmas?
Viewers will already know that Leanne Battersy is carrying Steve McDonald's baby - the result of a one night stand they'd rather forget - but with Steve determined to make Christmas perfect for his pregnant wife Michelle, will it all go to plan? Or will his baby secret be out?
And with tensions brewing between Nick and Leanne, will certain secrets be exposed?

4. Tragedy for Bethany Platt
Bethany Platt hasn't had an easy time of it of late; from falling victim to cruel taunts from bullies calling her 'fat' to turning to diet pills in a desperate plea for help. And Bethany could seriously ‘go off the rails’ soon following a series of devastating blows recently – including discovering that her mum Sarah Platt is now dating her crush Gary Windass.
With Bethany now fighting her feelings for Gary, it seems that one more knock to lead her venture down a very dark path...

3. Maria Connor faces christmas behind bars
Corrie bosses are lining up a devastating Christmas storyline for Maria Connor that will see her say goodbye to Weatherfield - as she alledgedly faces the prospect of a Christmas behind bars.
Maria has found herself in quite a spot of bother recently, but the real reason she will find herself back behind bars is not because she was framed for the "murder" of Caz Hammond - despite Maria currently being on remand in jail after she was framed by Caz, who faked her own death.
Instead, the hairdresser is to face a 12-month prison sentence following the exposure of her sham marriage.
2. Peter Barlow's BIG secret
Everyone knows Peter Barlow LOVES a bombshell and as uspicions about the identity of Peter Barlow’s secret lover have been going around for a while - will it all be revealed? A annoyed Nick Tilsey is convinced he’s after Leanne, but will he be proved right? Or will be introduced to ANOTHER one of Peter's infamous conquests?
1. Even more twists and turns
Coronation Street never do things by halves. Take David Platt's revenge storyline, NO ONE was expecting the crash that put his daughter's life in jeapordy - or Ken Barlow's life-threatening stroke.
We can soap twists, turns, shock deaths, funerals and huge stunts this Christmas on the cobbles. And it's always better when everyone is kept in the dark a little, isn't it?
