This week has been named MEGA SOAP WEEK for a pretty damn good reason, there's going to be more soap twists, turns, shock deaths, funerals and huge stunts than you can shake a stick at.

Coronation Street Ken Barlow stroke

In last night's double bill of Coronation Street, we saw Ken Barlow collapse and suffer a heartbreaking stroke following an arguement with son Peter - putting his health and his future in jeopardy.

The storyline was kept a guarded secret by soap bosses, ensuring that viewers were left open-mouthed by the scenes.

Here's how fans reacted:

Soap LEGEND William Roache, who plays Ken, admitted that even he was shocked when he found out about his characters fate. What will this mean for the Barlows?

Speaking to RadioTimes, he said: "When I first heard about it, it did make me feel paranoid about my job.

"The first thing I said was, 'Do I get better?' But, of course, I'm loving the storyline to bits. Having been here since the beginning, I'm very fortunate to have a very viral and vibrant story."

One things for sure though, the Barlow's lives will change forever. Especially as Peter Barlow's much anticipated return is now playing out on screen...

We're not sure how much more drama we can take, especially with David Platt's plans to revenge plot to murder his wife Kylie’s killer, and end his own life in the process.
