If you were to ask us which of this year’s Love Island contestants are most likely to get in trouble with the producers, we’d likely say someone like Joey Essex (because he basically does what he wants in the villa) or Jess White (because she’s definitely not afraid to say what’s on her mind).
We never would have pictured Uma Jammeh getting a telling off, but apparently that’s exactly what happened. Although when you hear the reason why she got reprimanded, it’s actually rather sweet.
Uma spilled the beans when she joined us at Closer HQ with new boyfriend Wil Anderson for a good old chinwag about their time on the show.
It’s well known by now that the boys and the girls get separated during meal times and on their down days, but it turns out that Uma and Wil just couldn’t keep their hands off each other and this led to them receiving a rollicking from producers.
“I think the one thing that I can say I definitely wasn’t aware of in the villa is being separate. You’ll have a time where you’ll be altogether and then it will be girls and boys separate,” Wil explained.
“The reason behind it is pretty straightforward and obvious, it’s just so you don’t talk about things they want to have on camera. I do understand it, but I just didn’t expect it.
“There’s only certain hours of the day you’re allowed to be next to each other, so it’s dead hard when you really like someone.”
Uma added, “Yeah, we always used to get in trouble because we’d just keep giving each other little kisses. Sometimes we wouldn’t get caught.”
See, we told you the reason she got told off was sweet.
“Do you remember when you made me that iced coffee and we sat for ages?”, Uma asked Wil.
“No one noticed and we sat for ages. I was like, ‘Yes!’”
Now that they’re out of the villa and free to do what they want, Uma and Wil are going from strength to strength and have even revealed they’ve talked about moving in together.
