Over the years we've seen so many Love Island stars but Remi Lambert's Love Island 2022 stint was short even by bombshell standards. He entered the villa with fit fitness guru Jay Younger on day nine last summer and exited on day 12 after a brutal dumping.
Normally, if a bombshell's Love Island stint doesn't reach double digits duration-wise, they tend to drop off our radar and eventually return to their normal jobs – although, let's be honest most of their normal jobs are model/influencer/singer/rapper, so don't feel too bad for them.
Remi (who does a couple of those aforementioned jobs, to be fair), however, has remained a topic of conversation due to his ongoing feud with fellow 2022 bombshell, Jacques O'Neill – aka Gemma Owen's ex – which reached new, worrying heights last month.
It's a long story that is still burning strong almost a year later, so let's start from the beginning...
Who is Remi Lambert?
Remi appeared on Love Island 2022 as a bombshell. He entered the villa alongside Jay on day 9, before being dumped on day 12.
How long was Remi Lambert on Love Island 2022 for?
An awkward three days.
Where is Remi Lambert from?
Remi hails from Manchester, but looking at his socials he is one serious jet-setter.
What does Remi Lambert do for a living?
Remi is a model (obviously). Plenty of Islanders have been on the modelling books before, but Remi entered the villa a seriously successful one, already modelling for the likes of Charlotte Tilbury, Jacamo, FITFAM, Tessuti, Myprotein, GeorgeAtAsda and Chelsea FC.
Does Remi Lambert also rap?
No, but he has starred in a rap video.
It's safe – albeit shady – to say that Remi's life outside the villa caused more of a commotion than his lacklustre life inside in the villa last summer, as his rap career came to light almost as soon as he walked through those villa doors, leading to hundreds of memes doing the rounds on Twitter.
Even though everyone had a bit of a laugh, it turns out that Remi starred in UK rapper Aitch's music video for his 2021 hit Learning Curve, where he starred as a wedding guest for about three seconds.
Aitch had to be reminded of the moment he starred alongside Remi (who is also from Manchester), as he shared someone alerting him of the moment on his Instagram Story.
He wrote, "No f**king way 😂😂😂 only just clocked that Remi was in this video."
What happened with Remi Lambert and Jacques O'Neill?
Despite nothing actually being aired on telly, upon exiting the villa, Remi revealed that he actually clashed with Jacques on show, claiming that the rugby player "ruined his time there".
Remi said on Reality with Will Njobvu's YouTube series, "There was of lot stuff that wasn't aired – a lot of stuff going on. So basically, me and Jacques got into quite a lot of arguments and it just made my experience s**t. It ruined it for me.
"People were saying, 'It's because he's got a rugby persona'. But you can't treat people like that."
He added, "He was just trying to get on to me."
Remi then claimed that Jacques mimicked his voice and revealed that he wasn't the only one who clashed with him, "It was so jarring but I was the only one to stick up for myself because he would always do that to people and I just like to stick it on him and say 'Shut up!'"
Later that summer, the feud reached new heights following an awkward Instagram Live between Jacques and his Love Island bestie, Luca Bish.
During their Live, an Instagram user pretending to be Remi and added a comment which cued the friends to sarcastically joke about Remi Lambert's rapping skills. Naturally, the conversation was later brought to the attention of Remi.
A fan sent a TikTok of the conversation to Remi via is DMs with the message, "Just to let you know a fake account under the name of remilambo0 was commenting on their live pretending to be you. I thought you were GREAT in the villa and I'm sorry you didn't get a proper chance on there. Guys like Luca & Jacques have zero self awareness and I believe you that you felt like they bullied you in the villa. I hope you're doing well and continue SMASHING it."
This then led Remi to share the video as a post on his Instagram feed and release a statement about Jacques and Luca.
Remi wrote, "@loveisland ? I never joined their live so I didn’t comment actually. A fake account called remilamb0 did. Don’t know why these guys have such a problem with me, clearly got some serious issues they need to sort out.
"Everyone said I lied about the way I was treated in that villa, but this here is an example of what was going on whilst I was in there. Don’t know why they wasn’t kicked out for their behaviour to be honest. It’s not banter, it’s clear signs of bullying.
"I wish everyone could see all of the crap I went through. There’s 24 hours in a day and yous only seen like about 3-5 10 second clips of me out of the whole day, so you could never tell what was truly happening.
"Jacques said bad things about my appearance and the way I speak, whilst Luca was encouraging it. After about 3 strikes from Jacques I told him I won’t be speaking to him anymore in the villa. Later on he tried apologising to me but like 10 minutes after he started with the snide comments again. I’ve tried to avoid this guy multiple times but he always ends up starting again. I don’t know when it will stop."
Things seemed to simmer off for a while, until March 2023 when Remi released another statement related to Jacques on his Instagram Story, claiming that he was "assaulted" by one of Jacques' friends after a recent night out.
He wrote, "Wasn't going to being this up but now this has gone too far now. Last night I was assaulted by one of Jacques' friends. Jacques and him followed me on my walk back home from the club and stopped me.
"Then Jacques began to start an argument the Love Island beef that was a year ago. Clearly can't move on. Out of nowhere his friend punched me. I think it was a setup to get me to react but I'm too mature this bs.
"If anyone saw anything last night message me."
Both parties have remained silent regarding the alleged incident (as well as each other) since Remi's accusation.
Does Remi Lambert have Instagram?
Yes, and some of his images can live rent free in our minds for the rest of our lives – a grand deal considering we're living in a cost of living crisis.. Follow him at remilambo.
